Yeah basically out of all their forwards only really Tolman was still as good at his next club as he was at the Storm. Backs a slightly different story though.

Yeah Welch isn’t good enough. At least not someone I’d have any faith in. A bloke like Arrow does it surrounded by pus/underperformers.

Welch not even in the conversation.

With Friend injured and Hunt possibly injured, how would Mahoney go? I haven't really seen too much of him, I wonder what Eels fans think?

I feel for Friend, after Mal coming out and saying he would pick him and make him captain there was no way Walters wasn't going to pick him.

Cunt tore his bicep, came back on the field and still came up with a tackle that dislodged the ball to set up the match sealing try.

I remember a few years back he punctured a lung, played out the game, went home and if his misses at the time didn't rush him to the hospital there's a fair chance he would've passed.

Bloke is dead set made for Origin, I was very happy but conflicted when QLD didn't pick him last year.

Blues would be nuts not to pick Walker.

So assuming those 2 are out, would you pick McCullough again? The only other option is Granville, and he's not even NRL standard anymore.

    Well, I guess there's Baptiste...

Yeah, I’d pick McCullough. Best available, unfortunately.

Mahoney has been great - quickly cemented a spot in a position Parra have struggled with for ages. I'm confident he'll play for Queensland in the next few years. He hasn't been so great that you could really justify picking him as starting hooker so quickly - he's been surprisingly first grade standard immediatey, but his service and decision-making are really only just that and nothing more so far - but if they want to pick Hunt there Mahoney could be an option on the bench just to give him a rest.

I don't see them doing anything other 9 McCullough 14 Hunt for Game 1 though. I could see the deciding Hunt was going to play longer than half the game but even in that case I still don't think he'd start.

Tallis is calling for Dafita to play in the centres...

He could go alright attack wise, but defending there would be rough for a rookie

No Friend, possibly no DCE. Napa in doubt. Fook sake man...

Even with DCE we’ll be up against it. Without him, fuck me...

Hunt is Qld’s Mitchell Pearce. Big moment choker.

It's hard to really care with NSW just so overwhelmingly dominant. A shame the likes of Smith and Inglis have chickened out and left their team mates high and dry.

    Yeah massive \_/

    You’re taking the piss yeah?

  18. Cribbage RG Cribb

Haha yeah I'm sure he is, but there is a kernel of truth in the first part at least for a NSW fan. Not that we're going to dominate per se, but that even if we win we haven't taken out Smith, Thurston, Inglis, Slater and Cronk. We really wanted that shit after all those years of pain. It makes it all slightly hollow. It's a new era but we're still licking our wounds from the previous one.

For sure. I thought he may have been referring to the way Smith went out last year. I mean why mention Smith and Inglis but not Cronk?

Yeah he took a reasonable point and decided to have a bit of a troll with it I think.
