I want Morgan in the centres over Gagai, but I think going with

    7. Morgan
    9. Hunt

    is better than

    7. Hunt
    9. McCullough

Of course if Hunt had one of those games in the halves that turn out to be absolute blinders, it would be great too, but you just never know when he's going to play like a star and when he's going to choke.

Morgan will be a hit or a miss too though, he's very one dimensional. If he doesn't grind out a win he can be completely useless, his style may be qld's only hope though, similar to what trent hodkinson did for nsw by being a useless cunt in general but just pinning them down in the corners.

It still has to be a combo of Macca and Hunt in the 9. I'd play macca first 30, and Hunt can finish the game.

With DCE possibly out, I'd put Morgan at 7 and hope a centre becomes first grade standard soon.

Hopefully Darius answers the call and comes out of rep retirement.

Doesn't surprise me at all that McGuire has been told to work on his dummy half passing.

Was gonna call it a week ago.

McGuire for the first 20 with Hunt off the bench.

McGuire won’t be fit for game one now I don’t think.

  7. Boobidy BJ Gemmell

McGuire needs to start at prop, not 9.

These injuries...fuck me dead. Stop getting hurt, cunts.

  9. Magic AJ Parker

The way Mcguire came off injured in that game, you have to think he didn't want to play last night but was talked into it. They way he blew up at I assume one of the coaching staff was insane.

This. He said something like “I’ve been saying it all fucking week”

I don’t like sweeping changes but you have to put a line through Maloney, Roberts and RCG playing this series imo. They’ve all been horrific this year. The hardest replacement to pick is for Roberts though. There’s no obvious centre to bring in.

  12. Lukic L Popovic

    Probably Leilua

  13. Magic AJ Parker

I would have more confidence in sticking with Maloney over Cleary if we're going to go with one incumbent an one new face in the halves.

I think Freddy will end up sticking with Roberts just because there's not a clear 2nd choice option. Jack Bird has turned to shit, Leilua has defensive issues. Players like Ramien and Aitken really haven't kicked on this year, if I was forced to pick one I'd probably go with Jack Wighton.

Maloney was one of three players who were the key to NSW’s victory last year. The other two being Tedesco and Klemmer. I would find it very hard to leave him out despite the woeful club form.

Roberts will be picked, no question imo. But I’d pick Ramien. I think he’s been great in a shite Newcastle side.

Freddy will pick TomT at centre if he gets in a full game for Manly on time IMO.

Isn’t he still out for like another month?

  17. Cribbage RG Cribb

Manly have listed him to return "round 11-12". Origin team is picked after Round 11 and Origin 1 is played between Rounds 12 and 13. If he plays 80 in Round 11 and doesn't look completely fucked he'll be centre IMO.

I still reckon it's a less than 50% chance of actually happening but I think it's still Plan A at the moment based on Freddy's comments when interviewed.

  19. Maroon_Faithful M Faithful

Ah okay. I still don’t see it but who knows.

Yeah I basically agree tbh. I reckon they're dreaming.

But I do think they're probably still dreaming about that and not really pencilling in anyone else. Which means it'll probably be a Fittler special selection - ie. whoever plays well the week before. Might even be worth looking at the Round 11 fixtures in trying to predict this one.
