    Robbie Keane
    Ryan Babel
    Peter Crouch
    Lucas Leiva
    Jermaine Pennant
    Craig Bellamy
    Luis Garcia
    Momo Sissoko
    Fernando Morientes

All paid for with significant money to play a major role at the club and have either been shipped or are generally shit so far. Babel and Lucas have shown flashes but not enough.

He has made some great signings but he's also made some very poor ones. And let's not forget that Xabi was pretty poor in Red until last season. That said, if he manages to bring Silva or Villa in then I think he's well ahead of even. He still has no decent backup up front, and has tried at least 4 players there.

disagree with Pennant he showed plenty of glimpses of the potential he has he just couldn't sustain it for 75-90 minutes but I feel he is suited to a lower class club like a Portsmouth who don't have the money to replace him with the click of a finger so he can build form rather then having to turn it on from the get go.

I personally think they're all very talented players but Rafa used them very poorly. In regards to Pennant, I'm looking forward to seeing how he goes in Spain this year. I think it could really suit him out there. Dasher.

Yeah heres hoping he does a Silva or a Jesus Navas and really kicks on his career like they have.

    Babel plays LW
    Crouch sold for a profit
    Lucas still young
    Pennant play RW
    Bellamy sold for a profit
Luis Garcia LW/RW and was class
    Sissoko sold for a profit
    Morientes fair enough

Like i said it was the spine

  6. Prince SHOES DP Smith

By spine I thought you meant first team regulars (ie. spine of the squad), not through the middle of the park (which makes more sense now that I think about it). Apologies there.

In regards to a few points, selling for a profit doesn't mean it was a good signing, and Babel is both right footed and naturally a striker, despite where he plays in Benitez's system (which is arguably why he bas been very poor so far).

For every good signing of Rafa's there is always 2 bad ones... just forgotten about and rarely ever mentioned.

I didn't say they we're good signing but i can't complain if we make a profit.

I forgot to give a comment about Keane - probs Rafa worst signing

Edit - totally agree Magic but so did SAF in his 1st 5 years

I'll give credit to Rafa he gets rid of players he buys if he think they're not good enough

Haha. Straws. You remember the 80's pretty well do ya Mouse? Considering you weren't born and all.

Shall we go right back into the black and white camera era? You know.. when Liverpool won something?

SAF Worst signing has been Manucho from what I've seen. Can't comment on anything pre 2000 really.

  10. BoyBlunder BOY Blunder

SAF has had a few. Every manager will.

Kleberson and Djemba Djemba spring to mind.

I really dont rate Rafa as a top manager at all.

He's terrible in the transfer market, and manages his players terribly. He rarely gets 100% of a players ability out of them, which is what SAF and Wegner are so good at.

  12. SM MD Dorn

    ****ing LOL.

For every Torres, there's 5 Voronin, Ciise, Keane, Morientes'

Worst call ever that Rafa knows his stuff in the transfer market

  13. Prince SHOES DP Smith

Haha Djemba-Djemba. What a woeful signing that was.

  14. BoyBlunder BOY Blunder

Id even class Veron as a flop.

He was good for a bit, but for the money we payed, (about 20 mill, which was huge at the time) he wasnt worth it.

Keane and Scholes so much better. :p

MOT. All your clubs are inferior waits for abuse

    pause... and continue

PS: About time someone ****ed Man City over, just never suspected it'd be Leeds even if the context of it is so minuscule compared to everything else going on at their club.

cries... delphy, i still love you : (

Some English **** to give me the low down on Michael Doyle and Tom Soares... good enough for league 1?

  18. BoyBlunder BOY Blunder

City will not come last.

They will make 4th imo. 5th at worst depending on how the squad gels. Arsenal will be 5/6.

  19. Prince SHOES DP Smith

We will finish 9th IMO, after being 14th(ish) at Christmas and bringing in Mancini to replace Hughes.

Man city will be competating for Arsenal much this time.I will be happy to see the Rivals fighting for their positions imo
