Post any rumours/news you hear about player transfers in the footballing world - not restricted to any league.

Transfer window starts in a month. I thought I'd open this thread early as some rumours are already coming through.

Please post a source with any news or rumours you post regarding contractual situations of footballers.

THIS IS FOR FOOTBALL (SOCCER) TALK ONLY.

Manchester City defender Richard Dunne is attracting interest from Sunderland.

Martin O'Neill wants to purchase a new defender in the summer should Martin Laursen be forced to retire due to injury. The Aston Villa manager has £10m to spend in the next transfer window.

Samuel Eto'o has turned down a £35m move to Manchester City. Inter remain interested but he wants to sign a new contract with Barcelona.

Andrey Arshavin said that he wishes to stay at Arsenal for the rest of his career.

The Czech Republic national team have offered the managerial position to former Chelsea boss Avram Grant.

I have heard fairly strong rumours that Drogba and Robinho are going to swapsies in the off season

Fabio Cannavaro to Juve seems pretty certain.
Still strong claims that Diego is joining us aswell (juventus)

Ranieri has kept his job although many people thought he was going to be replaced.

Antonio Cassano has been rumoured to joining us also, but will be interesting.

Yeah I heard that as well. However, it was only said around January time because Drogba was very unhappy at Chelsea under Scolari and Robinho was regretting his move to Manchester City instead of Chelsea.

I doubt it'll happen now though. Drogba is pretty happy now that Hiddink is manager, and there's been no dummy spits from Robinho.

    * Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez wants to improve his strikeforce and is interested in signing out-of-favour Manchester United forward Carlos Tevez.

    * Inter Milan manager Jose Mourinho is eyeing up a possible swoop for compatriot Deco of Chelsea.

    * Chelsea have confirmed that former AC Milan boss Carlo Ancelotti will be the manager at their club next season after Guus Hiddink's caretaker stint ends.

    * West Ham United manager Gianfranco Zola is on the verge of signing a new four-year deal with the club.

Could happen. Liverpool already have strong links with MSI thanks to the deal with Mascherano. Personally I don't know if the Anfield faithful would approve of it, still IMO he would be a very good signing.

Tevez is not that great TBH.

I think you might see senioré Owen back at Anfeild next season. He'll be shit though...

I don't see Tevez going to Liverpool. I think United will offer him another contract since Berbatov has been a bit of a flop.

I heard that Ancelotti did sign with Chelsea but then he came out and said he wasn't ever going to Chelsea and Zola getting a 4 year deal with West Ham is excellent for them.

    Which club?

    Are you being serious?

Neither do I. IMO, he'll stay at United. In the chance that he does leave though, it'll probably be to Spain.

Nah I disagree. I don't think Berbatov has been a flop. He's played the same way he's been playing for the last 3 or 4 years. Flashes of brilliance, class and pure skill... just lazy as hell.

Yeah the rumour that I posted was after he said he was never going to Chelsea. Looks like he went backwards on that.

Yeah agreed. When Zola signed on as West Ham manager, I was a bit worried that if he failed, it would take some gloss away from his excellent career and skills as a player. But it hasn't been, and he's turned West Ham into a really solid sign, gunning for that Europa League spot. He deserves the contract.

Torres > Tevez deffo. I think that for Tevez to be good at a club (like West Ham) he needs to be the dominant striker, playing big minutes, and being the go-to guy. He would never get that at Anfeild

Kaka has been linked with Manchester United. United are lookng at signing him if Ronaldo does leave and go to Madrid.

Personally I would love to see them sign himeven if Ronaldo doesn't leave. United has lacked some creativity in the midfield for the past few seasons.

Kaka will never go to United.

As far as I can see, the following are the English teams interested in investing this summer. Feel free to add/remove any names if you have an alternative rumour:
Arsenal: One holding midfield player, with the emphasis on youth, this being the Wenger–Rice syndicate. The choice seems to be between Premier League dreamer Miguel Veloso and the less likely Udinese axle Gokhan Inler. If anyone else is bidded for, expect names such as Fabian Delph, Micah Richards and Sebastian Bassong by all means, but im not sure how commited The Gunners really are on this front.
Everton: Two strikers; one to replace Yakubu Aiyegbeni, who will move to Germany or Spain, and one to cover for the injury–prone Saha. Jo, Kevin Kuranyi, Victor Obinna and Vagner Love are all outside Moyes' price range, so Nikola Zigíc and Simon Cox are more likely. I do expect Jose Baxter to come into the loop however.
Bolton: One striker and one winger; with Mustapha Riga on his way out and Ariza Makukula rejecting a permanant deal. James Morrison, who has obviously wised up to the relegation tactics of chairman Jeremy Peace, will join for about 4.5mil from West Brom, and I wouldn't be surprised if Ishmail Miller took the same taxi.
Fulham: A creative player to replace Bullard, which is looking like being Giles Barnes. Maybe a cheeky bid for Roy Keane's Alex Bruce, seeing as Roy doesn't seem to be getting on with his father, and seeing as Hangeland looks like re–packing his bags.
Man City: And he's packing them for Lancashire. Ins? I predict Breda Hangeland (7mil – Micah Richards out), Ronaldinho (17mil – Blumer Elano out), Joe Cole (11mil) and Gonzalo Higuain (13mil – Daniel Sturridge out). Wanna argue with my valuations? This team payed how much for Bellamy? Yeah, that's right.
Liverpool: A striker or two, a winger and a full–back. It seems all the ambitious Pool fans on this site are correct. Word on the street is that its: Tevez or Villa (30mil – Babel out), Maxí Rodriguez (10mil – Pennant out) and Henry Mathieu (got you there) (8mil – Degen out)
Man Utd: Youth. Names such as Kyriakos Papadopoulis, Dodo, Floro Flores, Alexis Sanchez and perhaps Douglas Costa could be on SAF's poachers guide, as he strays off in his tweeds.
Portsmouth: Surprise, this. From my contacts on the coast, Ive learned that Gayamadak's problems could be over as new investment dawns new growth within Fratton Park. Thealonis Gekas, Papa Bouba Diop, Lauren and Arnold Mvuemba will move on, but the key men, messrs Crouch, Krancjar, Distin and Johnson look like staying, along with Sean Davis and Jermaine Pennant, on a proper deal. Following him will be Chris Brunt, Scott Brown and Liam Fontaine, and Im also hearing about a big striker. Daniel Sturridge?
Wigan: A striker. And then two more. With the Zaki dreams up in the air, Mr. Bruce will secure Mido, who is starting to improve again, and recall Henri Camara. Targets for Bruce then are unclear, but I would guess Jonathan Walters, Micheal Mifsud, Shefki Kuqi and John Utaka could be on the notepad.

Lol way too much test to read.

Kaka to United is interesting. Id like to see him come, hel want to play Champions League, which is not guaranteed at Milan. Can we afford him? I dont know, IMO better off selling Ronaldo for 80-100 mill bringing in Kaka and Resigning Tevez.

Then we go with a front line of Rooney Tevez and Berbatove with a 3 man midfield of Carrick Kaka and Hargreaves in behind.
