    Didn't say the same when the refs actually got the call straight up wrong in Broncos v Tigers :p

    Also, this sin-binning shit is a mess. If teams continue to make similar infringements, fair enough. If a team gives away 5 penalties on it's own line, then there's an accidental high shot on the other side of the field, is that also a binning?

    Refs also missed a 2m forward pass before that sin-bin lol.

    There was a Matt Lodge play the ball that was absolutely horrendous that was let go. I also thought JWH being put on report for his hit on Milford was extremely hash, I think Gerard Sutton's wording was along the lies of 'you hit him with force' - like what the actual fuck.

    I thought the refs were shocking both ways though. I probably cringed half a dozen times with some of the most blatant flops from us. That one where JWH knocked Roberts Balls into his stomach was about as blatant a flop as you'll ever see.

    Even with all those shit calls the Cows deserved to lose that. Should never have let it get to the point of refs having any say. The Cook try was the killer during the second half. With the possession we had we should have had more than enough chances to score before the last 10 minutes.

    The Storm game was certainly interesting. Lol at Manly losing 2 players to 1 when their player got punched. Nice to see the HIA rort still around too.

    Apparently the Manly sin bins came almost 2 minites early too. Would be so great if they lose the 2 points for that.

    I just struggle to think of a sport that is officiated worse than this.

    Football (soccer) has some clangers which really change the complexion of the game, but the day to day clangers we get RL on such a consistent basis is unparalleled.

    Do people actually think the players are learning and this tact is proving remotely fruitful?

    I used to sit and laugh at the sort of shit for which players were binned in RU. We all laugh at the shit for which soccer players get carded.

    We are honestly worse than both now. Self-inflicted damage to our own game and our brand.

    Gould is right. At this rate they’ll be playing touch football in 100 years time. This officiating is frustrating the fuck out of the players, fans and anyone with a brain.

    At the start of the season did anyone seriously think what our game really needs is to have more penalty goals, more sin bins, and more stoppages? That obviously wasn’t the aim but that is the result. And these people should say openly that they don’t mind. Short term pain for long term gain. If only we could go back to this mythical era where everyone got back onside and played by the rules. What a fucking joke.

    Yeah if the opposition players aren't there, neither pass actually goes anywhere near a teammate. Both were shockingly milked, and I'd have no drama with them both being called play on instead of penalties.

    The Milford one was definitely worse though, as the cunt wasn't even in the ruck anymore. If that one was called play one but the Friend one was a penalty I'd have been cool with that too. But that Milford one was a disgrace.

    I am still mystified at the Cows chasing a converted try deficit by taking penalty goals. That's some of the stupidest shit. lol
    Very easy to sit in hindsight now and say it nearly won them the game but they still lost, didn't back themselves to score and it showed how little they backed their attack by taking goals to reduce a 6 point deficit.
    They're in even more strife than I thought. More disjointed with the ball, slow in defence, inability to control ruck speed and get ripped through the middle.

    Given the way penalties are being given out so frequently, I think if you're within 8 of your opponent and it's fairly early in the match, it's worth taking the 2.

    I've long been of the opinion that goals are worth too much relative to tries though. A try being worth 5 or 6 and a goal being worth 2 would be more apt I think.

    If its 8 down I agree especially late in a game to make it a converted try requirement rather than 2 scores. But just seems to show how little they back themselves in attack. You may have a point too about the value of the goals in relation to tries.
