    they finished 8th last year, they only went well in the finals because the refs stopped blowing penalties so they could lay in the ruck then rush up every set in defence and turn the game into a monotonous suppressed chess match which worked perfectly on unpredictable instinctual attacking teams like the eels and roosters. against a team like melbourne who can play chess easily they were exposed with having literally nothing else to offer.

    The thing that's really killed them this year is the fact they aren't playing unpredictable with the ball. Same set plays, one out shit. Green needs to let them play more instinctual football. Defensively they're balls too, no control of the ruck and the way they tackle other teams it allows faster play the balls.

    Winterstein in particular showed more examples of shit play. Running it back sideways, loose carry into a gang tackle dropping the ball like a moron. Led to the Raiders try that sealed it. 0 intensity or desire to make metres even on kick returns.

    Haha yeah I'm finding it slightly odd too. His role in the side was to come off the bench and play 25 minutes at hooker this season, after spending most of the past few years in reserve grade.

    It's only in any way interesting because Manly have 1000 injuries. You could make a good argument for not picking him at full strength even disregarding the off field dramas.

    We got some good calls vs Newcastle, but I don't think you can watch any game we've played this year and think we got a good go with the refs except for the Manly match & Newcastle match at times.

    End of the day we're a small club that's expected to be shit. We don't have a Bellamy, Bennett or Cam Smith that has clout and will rip in to the refs and sway things.

    lol please. It was a knock on. The fact that Wests didn't score from it doesn't change anything. Two points from a flop call that has happened 15 times this match ain't bad either.
