All talk on the 2010 World Cup qualifiers to go here IMO; any confederation.

Qualifiers coming up soon in June, there'll be some interesting games.

I'll post up some of the confederation group tables later.

    Capello calls up veteran Neville

Manchester United defender Gary Neville is the surprise inclusion in England coach Fabio Capello's squad for the World Cup qualifiers in June.
The 34-year-old, who is no longer regarded as United's first-choice right-back, last played for England in 2007, against Spain.
Keeper Paul Robinson, 29, has also been called up for the tie with Kazakhstan on 6 June and Andorra four days later.
Robinson last played for England in a Euro 2008 qualifier in October 2007.
That was under former coach Steve McClaren, with England being beaten by Russia in Moscow as Robinson made his 41st appearance for the national side.
Capello turned to Robinson because Portsmouth's David James has been ruled out with a shoulder injury and Manchester United's Ben Foster is sidelined with a thumb problem.
West Bromwich Albion's Scott Carson and Robert Green of West Ham are Capello's other potential goalkeeping options.

What do you think of Capello's latest England squad?

Veteran full-back Neville, who has won 85 England caps, has endured an injury-plagued two years and is not expected to start United's Champions League final against Barcelona on Wednesday.
If Neville is picked by Capello he will equal Kenny Sansom's record for a full-back of 86 caps.
Capello has also recalled Tottenham striker Jermain Defoe, who missed the first three England games of 2009 through injury.
Manchester City winger Shaun Wright-Phillips, who was thought to require knee surgery, proved his fitness for Manchester City on Sunday and is also named in the squad.
But Wright-Phillips' City team-mate Nedum Onuoha, who had been tipped for a place in the squad, has missed out.

    Full England squad:
Scott Carson (West Bromwich Albion), Robert Green (West Ham United), Paul Robinson (Blackburn Rovers)
Wayne Bridge (Manchester City), Ashley Cole (Chelsea), Rio Ferdinand (Manchester United), Glen Johnson (Portsmouth), Joleon Lescott (Everton), Gary Neville (Manchester United), John Terry (Chelsea), Matthew Upson (West Ham United)
Gareth Barry (Aston Villa), David Beckham (AC Milan loan from LA Galaxy), Michael Carrick (Manchester United), Steven Gerrard (Liverpool), Frank Lampard (Chelsea), Theo Walcott (Arsenal), Shaun Wright-Phillips (Manchester City), Ashley Young (Aston Villa)
Carlton Cole (West Ham United), Peter Crouch (Portsmouth), Jermain Defoe (Tottenham Hotspur), Emile Heskey (Aston Villa), Wayne Rooney (Manchester United)

I know, we don't have much to much in the CF department. Cole is shocking.

I won't be surprise if we play Rooney has a lone CF and Gerrard just behind him all Heskey and Rooney has our CF

God England better hope they've got some gun juniors coming through, that team is shocking for such a large footballing nation.

I can't believe Scott Carson got an English recall. He was pathetic for WBA this season.

  18. Julian BJ Taylor

    Hahaha.

I thought Heskey would be long gone by now.

  19. Julian BJ Taylor

Kewell and Cahill would add heaps to that side IMO.

Nah, he was playing some good football at Wigan. That's what got him back into the national side, he played himself back into it. In fact, he got scooped up by Aston Villa as a result as well.

That's fair enough for me TBH ... he hasn't lost much of his finishing skill even with age.
