Oh, I agree Latrell, if fit, needs to and will likely be there.

With the likely retention of Wighton in the 17, I'm surmising that one of the lineups Fittler will consider will have:
    3. Staggs
    4. Mitchell

    14. Wighton

Though the correct decision (while retaining Wighton), really is:

    3. Wighton (R)
    4. Mitchell (L)

    14. Koroisau

Regardless; surely Crichton and Matterson are out, probably for Koroisau and Frizell.

I think Sims might get lucky and stay in the 17, as who would replace him? Angus?

He's been largely forgotten, but Klemmer has been quite good in a shit team this year. Picking him would allow them to play 2 props on the bench.

NSW lost the 2020 series largely because of Fittler's bench picks. 4 middle forwards/one edge player.

Picking a centre again may well cost them this series.

Cunt has no idea. Cook can play 80. Doesnt mean he should tho.

    Koloamatangi, Angus,Martin, Olakauata, Luciano,

NSW could definitely keep Wighton and Latrell. Move Wighton to 6, and fuck Luai off.

Yeh if I could make 3 changes I would bring in Koloamatagi on the left edge for Sims, drop Crichton for Latrell & Matterson for Jurbo. I wouldn’t even be mad if they brought in Angus Crichton as the 4th prop option, he played there last year and was really good for NSW. Provides good defensive intensity and strong carries, just don’t think he’s much chop on an edge tbh.

They'd be my 3, though I think I'd go Korisau for Crichton.

One other thing with Jurbs is he can shoulder some of the first receiver stuff when Yeo is off, a lot of the riff set up depends on the way he holds up the line.

O'lickywatu from Manly has ruled himself out of G2, and Tupou might be doing the same to play for Tonga. That should put a line through them moving forward. Can't pick and choose when to play Origin.
  9. Magic AJ Parker

It’s not really surprising though is it, Daniel Tupou has 14 games for Tonga and has been allowed to bounce between playing origin and for Tonga in the past. I Imagine Kotoni Staggs will possibly have to make a decision on it also, has he said anything?

    Olakau'atu goes for Qld
  11. Boobidy BJ Gemmell

There is a difference between playing for them in the off season when not selected for Aus, and turning down an origin spot to play for them. Any Queenslander that turns down a jersey shouldn't be offered one again.
  12. Sultan Pepper HG Emm

After watching Luciano mail it in for the tigers he's got no business in this list. Should be in reggies
  13. Boobidy BJ Gemmell

Surely Cows regret signing him for such big numbers. Especially with all the backrowers they have already.
  14. Magic AJ Parker

Looks like he'll be joining Cowboys immediately
  15. Sultan Pepper HG Emm

I really don't think Luai is up to being an origin 6
  16. AVA T Delonge

Yeah I think the club combo thing is overrated at the best of times, and I really don't think the Luai-Penrith combos work at an Origin level to make it worth the selection.
  17. Boobidy BJ Gemmell

It's great for QLD that Luai is gonna ride Cleary to 15 origins.

I get the idea of getting a 5/8th that's happy to play second fiddle, or even 5th fiddle when you've got a fullback, half, hooker and lock that are so influential, but geez he's limited.

I understand the idea, I mean I remember advocating for Josh Reynolds to be nsw 5/8th years ago when we had creative options like Farah at 9, Hayne at 1 etc as you just needed someone to back up and play a role. But with the current crop I think I'd have Luai behind:

Walker (though I think he's a sook and a flake)

to play that role. I'm actually a pretty big fan of Luai in the Penrith set up, but even watching him last night I think he just lacks a bit of polish. He has a few highlights at Penrith, but I think that's more weight of opportunity more than anything else.
  19. Sultan Pepper HG Emm

Also Wighton out with rona, heard Talakai saying he's waiting for a call from Freddy.
  20. Magic AJ Parker

I don’t disagree on Luai, he’s been overrated for a while but is a still a good player, I was going to post something similar before the start of the series but reality is there’s no one really banging down the door. Keary’s been slow in his progression returning from an ACL this year, Walker’s 32 and can be very hot & cold, Burton seems to lack creativity and his strengths are very similar to that of Cleary’s, Hynes has been impressive but you would like to see him do it over a longer period of time & Moses like Burton offers a lot of what Cleary already offers IMO.

I’m happy to stay with Luai just for the sake of continuity which I think is a really underrated part of SOO, if you can leverage partnerships built in past series/games then it’s an advantage for sure IMO.
