Looks like Howe can go then. If Mousey or Escath feel particularly aggrieved they can push in front of me in the queue. EDIT: @Howe - I definitely think some members are likely to run better games than others. And I think the majority of the mafia playing crowd on CricSim is generally more perceptive than the average CricSim member. I think most would agree weldone would do an okay job at mafia, for example.
I'm fine with Howe going ahead tbh, but I think he should wait for Escath to say so too if that's how he feels.
If Howe cuts in front of Escath, then he doesn't lose any places in the queue anyway as I'll just drop to the bottom.
Right so by Howe's logic, someone can push in the queue and get in front of him if they're ready to start now. Good good.
.... Howe's whole point is that there isn't a queue and people should be able to go whenever they're ready...
Man, this thread exploded. There are two issues that have been brought up and Howe has tried to make it all into one big issue. Firstly, the issue of multiple games running at once. I've already posted about this elsewhere so there's no point going over it again. Secondly, the issue of the queue. For some reason, Howe believes the presence of a queue automatically means that there can only be one game. They are entirely separate issues though. It's like when you go to a bank and there is a single queue. That doesn't necessarily mean there's only one teller on duty. Purely out of principle, I don't agree with Howe being able to just skip ahead of everyone just because his game is ready. I'm sure we could have at least half the people in queue be ready by next week if we just decided to start a game whenever we felt like it. Sure, Howe can go now but what's stopping another person from deciding they really, really wanted to run a game right now and come in and say they're ready, so they should get first priority? I couldn't care less if my game is five, six or seven games away. However, I do not think it would be fair that everyone has had to wait in turn just for Howe to start his game simply because he made his game ready before anyone else. Just my two cents. PS: I'm totally fine with skipping over or delaying someone's game if they aren't going to be ready by the time the previous one finishes, but this really isn't the case here.
Don't see any problem with at least 2 games running together tbh if someone wants to concentrate on 1 then he can take part in 1 and then there are dead people anyways, but when someone's turn comes and he isn't ready for a couple of weeks that becomes a issue due to the Queue system as after expressing interest earlier that person may become busy. Mafia on here went pretty much dead due to that for a month or 2 at least. If someone is ready right now, he should go ahead, imo.
Those who think the queue system is a bad idea, what would you use instead? Presumably you don't want too many games going on at once so there needs to be some sort of regulation. If someone is ready to go but there's games going on, do they get priority if they make their interest known?
