Rafa Benitez's booing

Pretty sure Celtic were 2nd under Barnes - he actually had them playing pretty decent stuff initially.

He lost Larsson to a leg-break at a bad time, fell behind us and then after Christmas started to treat us to some comedy results.

Pretty sure he never called them plastic outright TBF, more of a media spin then anything

    It's pretty horrible really.

Part of me wants him to do really well and stick it to these "fans", but part of me also wants him to never win a game with them because they don't deserve a quality manager like Rafa.

He's a Rangers fan iirc.

Agreed. They're obviously not pleased that Di Matteo got the sack. That's compounded by the fact that his replacement isn't held in high esteem by them. While I think they are overreacting at the moment, it isn't as outrageous as people are making it out to be.

Fair enough - you'd know better. Regardless he'd been proven to be shite.

He had us try and play nice football - worked against the two sides we played who were worse than us but trying it against superior outfits like Charlton and Millwall showed naivety at best, stupidity at worst.

That was coupled by the fact that he'd come out with post-match comments like 'forget about tactics'.

He essentially called all their fans shit when he was Liverpool manager, of course they're gonna hate the guy

I don't see why its a shock that it happened

    exactly.

I'll probably sit on the fence with this comment but I can understand why Chelsea fans decided to boo him. He has history with the club due to his time at Liverpool and his comments about Chelsea (which was funny and true) was always going to cause conflict if he ever did get the job

However, he has a win percentage of over 50%, and will get them results. Wouldn't be surprised if they win the Europa League with him.

Yet again I'm on the fence for wanting him to do well. As much as I respect him for what he achieved at Liverpool, and things he did off the field with Hillsborough etc and glad he's back in management. I can't stand that fucking club, and that won't change with him in charge. Their fans are fucking gobshites and I can't stand their fucking captain, leader, legend of a cunt JT.

    Okay, not all their fans...

Shouldn't really generalise all their fans, because I know some are decent.

Who cares anyway? Rafa's a big boy and can handle what comes his way. Given what he's said in the past he'd have been well aware that his appointment would have been unpopular with some sections, but took it on anyway, he knew what he was getting into.

Booing him is pretty crappy, but, we must remember this is a club whose fans/players/board are primarily made up of extremely undesirable characters, so it's hardly surprising that this has happened.

I don't agree with his appointment, but booing him is a disgrace. He had nothing to do with the sacking of di Matteo, and he's going to try and do the best job he can.

They arn't booing him just because hes taking Di Matteos place, they're booing him because of how he acted to them when he was Liverpool manager
