Channel 10 are shithouse too. Actually loved C9's AFL coverage. Had 3 games on, instead of 2. Had Brayshaw, Lyon, Brereton, Brian Taylor, Dwayne Russell, etc.
Good call by Stuart saying Pearce is the best halfback in the world. FMD, I don't even know a Roosters fan who'd say that shit.
He's a revitalised player! To be honest, before this year I thought White was very average as well with moments of passion like in Game 3 last year (or was it the year before)? This year he's taken his game up a notch though, one of the inform props in the comp
Pretty much the whole night I was screaming at Locky and Thurston to take a run as NSW were pushing in and out on Slater and Thaiday respectively. Over-reading in other words. When he finally did, he looked like a snail but he still poked his nose through and made a great run. Probably his best running game for a long time. His passing, apart from that ball to Hodges, was also quite good.
Strikes me as a club player tbh. Can't ever really see him being a success at Origin level. TLL on the other hand. Stuart actually dropped the best prop NSW have, based on previous Origin games, for Merrin and Galloway. I mean that is just unforgivable. In total Merrin and Galloway made 70m in three games.
Hodges was pretty fucking shit. Two errors, looked about as threatening from acting half as a wet penguin, and although he made a few good incisive reads - cutting the play off, he was out of position a fair bit too.
Yeah, I don't actually know who's fault it was down that side, but there were 4 or 5 pretty easy breaks along that edge. Did nothing in attack either.
I thought Hayne was really good at centre. I'd even consider picking him there again with Stewart at the back. We actually used his boot once and even though it went down Slaters throat it was an absolute monster. Was filthy we didn't use it again. Our halves were so bad tonight. We really need Carney to come back to form, because these two just don't cut it.
Lockyer and Hodges can't tackle for shit. Lockyer made so many poor misses through lack of effort and technique. I have NFI idea what he or Hodges were going on in that first NSW break. Apparently that is supposed to be a defensive line.
Anybody notice the photographer in Inglis's first try? Got absolutely wiped out by GI and Mini. LMAO.
Strange how Thurston's kicking was so good and yet his general play attack was so poor. He had a great night with the boot. 4/4, set up GI's first try, put in some great long range kicks, and dribbled a few in for at least one repeat set.
