Interested to hear the Liverpool fans on heres thoughts on all the non football Sterling stuff. He needs a new agent I reckon, and maybe a more fatherly role from Rodgers. One of the things Fergie and Wenger who are out of the old school were very good at is keeping their youngsters in check and giving them good advice. Sterling is certainly not getting good advice
Sterling is right to get the best contract possible but he's gone about it like a retard. It's PR disaster after disaster. He's being advised terribly by his agent, and I wouldn't be overly surprised if he moves on in the summer It's probably best for his development to stay with us, yet if he's motivated by money and trophies (don't play him if he is) then you can see why he would want to move to City and Chelsea. If he went to one of those clubs, he would easily get £120k
Yeah, he's only got one year left whereas Sterling has 2 years I think Hendo will sign at the end of the season
Problem is with Sterling, he's not worth £120k a week. Agents are such pricks, I don't think this whole standoff situation is doing him any good.
Is it about money though? The impression i get is he wants to win trophies. So not signing a long term deal when theres a real chance Liverpool drop out of top 4 then cant compete again next year is pretty smart. Why tie yourself down when theres no rush and he might be at a place he considers cant give him the challenge he needs
Every player says that, it's the default answer. To be honest, he's not going to be starting grade at any club that could push for the UCL for a while, so there's a lot of water to go under the bridge before I think he can be playing that card.
It's debatable that he's worth not worth £120k. He's one of our best players, and would want a similar wage to say Sturridge who's on around that mark. Say he moves to City, Chelsea or Arsenal, he would easily get £120k, so it's understandable why his agent asking for that fee
