    I just think that highlights his ineffectiveness. He's declined but still putting stats up - i.e. high volume on low efficiency. It just means the ball is going through him too much whereas other halves are probably handling the ball a more proportionate amount it or at least contributing in more ways than direct try assists.

    The ball isn't going through him too much. They go out of their way to play away from him when Morgan is at 6 to the point where it becomes detrimental. All it shows is that even at 70% he's still better than most of the plodders in fg these days.

    We're talking generational change here. The game isn't producing quality halves consistently any more. In 1998, so 20 years ago, we had a competition containing the following: Langer, Stuart, Daley, Fittler, Johns, Walters, Kimmorley, Jones, Lam, Toovey.

    Compare that to now. Compare the way halves played back then to now. Compare the way they're isolated from each other and how limited they are to specific roles. This is what happens when you confine the 7 to one side, virtually eradicate the five-eighth position and choreograph backline plays to the point of nausea. You get a competition where Luke Brooks and Mitchell Moses and Adam Reynolds are considered above average. It's pitiful.

    This is why I've stopped watching NRL. That Sharks Raiders game was the first time all year that I was looking like watching a full game of NRL outside of origin (Ive watched a half-3/4 of a few penrith games).

    That game was probably the most blatant example of subpar refereeing ruining a game, but it came as no surprise to see it happen. In the half a game here and there I've watched it's not uncommon to see there be 1-2 tries difference only for a blatant refereeing error or bizarre bunker interpretation to completely turn the game on its head. It's a total shitfight and is turning fans away.

    Like fuck me, you cunts had 56% of the possession, more than 40 extra plays & still couldn't produce shit.

    I don't even think the criticism of the no try call by the bunker was valid. I didn't think it was a try and I thought it was clear.
