Unfortunately I don't have contact with VF either, I think he would be okay around here as well. Probably less of a WUM than Fiery :p

Who got banned after me and VF did?

Just an idea, a few age-only sorta sub forums? ie the likes of younger blokes 13-16 say, meaning they can talk about a few more things without being slammed by older members?

    *shrugs*

RoyoftheRovers and 1 or 2 other members. Then they unbanned him or something IIRC.

Stopped being regular there around that time too or a little bit after that.

Yeah, i guess i'll give it a try.

Can ask on quite a few other forums too, but it's so awkward. :p

I was a regular until they decided to change website, then it turned shit.

Here's an idea for an activity boost. Do your sodding SAR task ffs.

Also, explain to me how Google AdWords works, and we can get an ad up for a short time and see if that gains us any members. Can always cancel it if it fails to bring in any traffic.

Who? We do need a sperm dumpster, Lukic is getting full.

As much as it is a good idea, I'm not certain it would work. 13 year olds and 16 year olds will generally have different discussions tbh.

Go on places where you can comment and have shit found easily.

Eg Facebook, Reddit. Spam cricsim links in relevant places (so cricket topics, rugby league topics etc). People will eventually click, they'll check it out and if they like it they'll stay and sign up.

We need to add more than just a forum & simming to the site though. You'd have to rework certain aspects as well.

Turn it into a website and have the forum as a part of it and add other stuff. Eg get members writing articles about cricket/league/stuff which would bring people to check it out.

Articles is interesting, could jag a few more numbers as people on the interweb love feeling like they matter.

Also offer 100,000 vcash for the first person that openly advertises this place and admits usage on their facebook page and gets 5 friends to join.

I do wonder if it's time to give other sports similar priority to league on here.

The Union subforum's been mildly successful, given the lack of Union fans on here.

Fine for League to be the #1 sport and be top of the list on Sports subforums but at least, I'd suggest that there should be a separate forum for any sport that has a proper sim

League Discussion Forum (post counts linked to RL Sim)
Union Discussion Forum (post counts linked, as they are now to RUSim)
Soccer Discussion Forum (post counts linked to Soccer Sim)
AFL Discussion Forum (post counts linked to AFL Sim)
Basketball Discussion Forum (post counts linked to Basketball Sim)
Other Sports (Including NFL, NHL, Cricket, Tennis etc.)

I've deliberately left cricket out as all posts in any forum add to your Cricsim post count and Cribb has a conflict of interest with his role at CricketWeb which effectively precludes him from having a competing Cricket forum

  15. Lukic L Popovic

    I like that idea Heef.

Get RLsim going btw. Could steal plenty of people from RL related forums I reckon.

I think it's critical in order to get general sports fans to join up and easily get stuck into discussion. It can be hard initially to understand Cricsim, so having an easy to understand area where you can discuss your favourite sports is ideal. Other sports as it stands is just a bit messy; with RU having a forum under that - good luck finding it if you're new.

This is a pretty good idea, would give cricsim greater appeal as a sports forum which I imagine would be a lot easier to market than just a simulated cricket forum. If we can just get people here for the discussion then they'll end up joining a team anyway to see what the fuss is about imo.

I also think existing members need to be more accommodating of new members, too often new blokes posts are ignored/shot down more harshly than more established members.

  19. Sultan Pepper HG Emm

Yeah I also think condensing/deleteing a few of the existing subforums is a good idea, the whole set up atm isn't overly user friendly for noobs.

Merge the pub and the entertainment lounge and have the big threads stickied - Movies, Music, Video Games and TV threads at the top so they're easy to find.

There seems to be an entirely arbitrary split between the two as it is right now.
