Reckon all discussions should have their subbie on the site index tbh.

What about putting a sort of welcome sub-forum at the top of the page? I know quite a lot of other forums do this sort of thing and I think it is quite a good thing. Especially if current members are welcoming, it means people are more likely to come back. As Emm said current members needing to shoot down new members as much as they do. Far too often I see idiots like Theo and Lukic thinking they are oldfags and if a new person disagrees with them in a thread they just reply with something like "who the fuck are you?"

How about going to football forums and getting cunts to come over, no doubt some of them would like cricket, just set up a football subbie, will defs get more people over.

Hey, the only guy I do it to is that fuckwit at the Saders with the anime avatar. He deserves it.

I know this has been semi-addressed by Cribb, but this is a good point.

There isnt any/much options out there relating to a Rugby League simulator, its an untapped market at the moment.

I could probably adapt RU Sim to Rugby League, but I don't know enough about Rugby League to do it and I'm already too busy as it is.

    C'mon now heef.

Yea i agree. Obviously you'd tweak the ages/criteria

    Yes. You're dead to me.

What if we perma banned mousey?

That would be a way of improving the forum that we can all get behind. In fact, forum ban him like Fiery so all he can post in is BBSim and the Victorian subforum.

I like the concept of a Welcome section which would ideally have a topic that summarises all the sims being run on the forum and provides links to the various registration threads.

Something like that would probably give the new users an idea of which ones he would like to participate in. As a new user to the site, I used to always open up CPL and wonder what the hell it was all about and whether it actually worked together with cricsim. While I don't think this will bring in new members, it may help retain the ones who do join.

You could move the introduction thread in there as well and ensure that new members who post in there aren't insulted too much.

I also like Heef's idea on giving other sports priority. Gives us a wider range of people coming in.

Any thoughts on the other suggestions raised, Crabbage?

Yep I read this one when I first joined and found it very useful. It should be about more sports than cricket though.

  18. Raide KN Rask

You make that sound like a bad thing =P

Pretty good point, I remember when I signed Hunter and some others had a bit of a jab at me. But I copped it and had a go at giving it back. Though for a lot of people I can understand that would be off putting - most people don't expect what usually hits them!

Cricket simulation is the flagship of Cricsim. All other sports are secondary to that.

One of the better suggestions in here though has been to try and change that a bit.

It's something I've been gradually trying to do anyway - equal rights for different sims. For example, all the CricSim competitions used to have their forums on their mainpage, but now they're just subforums of "CricSim Cricket" and the other sims have the same forum structure. The problem with this is that the other sims have been somewhat unreliable, barring Seasonal Rugby.
