    I reckon the playoff is stupid. Why the FA don't just decide by the head-to-head and then, if that's even, go to a playoff is beyond me, because that seems the most logical way to go about it.

    C.5. If any 2 or more Clubs have scored the same number of points their position in the table shall be determined on goal difference, that is to say, the difference between the total number of goals scored by and against a Club in League Matches in that season, and the higher or highest placed Club shall be the Club with the higher or highest goal difference.


    C.6. If any 2 or more Clubs have scored the same number of points and have the samegoal difference the higher or highest placed Club shall be the Club having scored the most goals in League Matches in that Season.


    C.7. Subject to Rule C.14, if any 2 or more Clubs have scored the same number of points, have the same goal difference and have scored the same number of goals in League Matches in in that Season they shall be deemed to occupy the same
    position in the table.

    Yeah, the potential play off would just decide who's 3rd and who's 4th. 3rd gets you automatic Champions League qualification and 4th means you have to qualify.

    I'm not sure whether they'd do it if it decided 9th or 10th though.

    It would be purley champions league situation only



    edit: im seeing 2 different sets of rules here, one that news sites are saying, that it would be 3rd place
    and 1 from the official premier league rules which state that they both finish 3rd

    :/
