Honestly think you are being pretty generous with that statement, however I believe that if Tim Smith can fire, that being said is a big if but I think he still has the ability/potential to be a top 8 NRL standard halfback. Could prove to be a key factor in how well we go this year. Also seeing Kelly/Graham would be pretty gun if they tore it from the get go. But they strike me as a 2012 combo for The Sharks.

Eventually when? Kelly isn't even FG standard.

    Incorrect.

Don't really think Graham and Kelly will make a good pairing, particularly when Morris is off the field, but I definitely think Kelly is a first grade standard five-eighth - or at least, has the potential to be in the very immediate future.

Albert Kelly is a filthy murray, fact.

I disagree, but regardless it's definitely the best option. They are both very skillful and both know the game and are good play makers even there both genuine five-eigths. Their job will be made alot easier behind the best pack in the comp.

I do agree it'll probably get a bit loose once Morris has a rest, but that'll develop over time if given an extended run - which they should. Both very young,

Big difference. What evidence is there for this? I don't think I've seen it.

Bloke reminds me of Ben Hunt.:w00t:

Exactly which one of them would you have playing halfback?

  9. Julian BJ Taylor

    Two five-eighths.

    How original.

  10. Cribbage RG Cribb

He's not anything like Ben Hunt.

  11. Julian BJ Taylor

    I think you're on a fool's errand there.

  12. Wilson SB Wilson

Graham, easily. Graham has the skills to become a halfback, imo. Kelly's also just suited to five-eigth.

  13. Julian BJ Taylor

    a) you haven't seen it because he's deadset only played fullback or a bit of no man's land in first grade. Don't know about some of the other blokes on here but I have seen a shitload of Kelly. There's a reason he's in and around first grade ready to go. Most kids, having gone through his junior career, would have been ****ed off.

    b) That is such an odd observation. So removed from anything Hunt has to offer it is quite unbelievable.

Yeah it's not ideal, but it's head and shoulders above any other option. Some of Graham's better games have been at halfback, so it's worth trying.

  15. Julian BJ Taylor

I don't disagree Wilson. But mainly due to lack of options.

Would love to see Kelly play with the time and field position the forwards will give him.

    Both very raw IMO.

Saying he isn't FG is not an errand.

Thing with Albert is he's a real ball player. He's not your 'athlete' that some modern five-eighths are. He's closer in style of play to a Cliff Lyons than anything on offer in the NRL at the moment. He puts people through holes and he finds holes himself. Hasn't got a brilliant kicking game but it goes alright. Definitely a player that needs the other half to steer the ship and do the little things right IMO.

Exactly. So why the **** are you blokes saying he's FG standard?

No it's not. I didn't say they were identical or even that they had numerous similarities. I said he reminded me of Hunt, for the reason I just gave. He's extremely rough around the edges, like Hunt and because of this, I don't think he's FG standard.
