    Not really surprised by that. Barca was the better team and did deserve it but that goal from Eto'o totally changed the tide of the game.

    Messi is an absolute star, shuts his mouth, doesn't show off, does what he has to do.. and makes the team pay. Not saying Ronaldo doesn't do that, but don't like his cockiness. If anyone watched the game on SBS not ESPN, you would've heard them talking about that topic.

    park was a space filler imo, barcelona were execptional, i heard a comment after the match on SBS, that man utd have to buy there way in to these sort of matches while of barcas starting 11, 7 were home grown

    Yeah, they have unbelievably strong youth at Barca, i think the spanish and italian leagues focus alot more on their youth academy/systems than that of the english clubs, thats what it looks like. Don't have a go at me anyone, as im not sure how strongly the English clubs focus on it, and if it is to the same extent as the Italian and Spanish.

    They probably put just as much attention into their academies, but English clubs tend to spend a lot more money and buy more players which means Youth Academy products are only offered small opportunities. Look at Man City, one of the most productive academies in the UK but all of their talent (Sturridge et all) are being forced out because managers prefer to purchase already proven players.
    Arsenal are one of the better clubs as we always, no matter what, give our young players a go in the Carling Cup.
