Champions League Final - United v Barca

    Discuss any news leading up to the game in just over a fortnight's time.

    Daniel Alves and Eric Abidal will miss the final through suspension. Rafael Marquez will miss it through injury.

    Darren Fletcher is also looking likely to miss the final through suspension.

    I think both teams will try to overturn the red cards of Fletcher and Abidal, respectively, on compassionate grounds.

    Predicted line-ups:

    MANCHESTER UNITED
    I read somewhere on a website (****ed if I know where now) that there was big talk of Scholes starting the game instead of Carrick because Ferguson wants to go for experience. United's defence and strikers basically picks itself, so it will be interesting to see what the midfield will look like come the final.

    BARCELONA
    With Abidal and Alves suspended, and Marquez injured, Barcelona will most likely be fielding an extremely understrength defence with defensive-midfielder Toure at centre-back, the versatile Puyol at RB and the aging Sylvinho at leftback - who, as a side note, is a former Arsenal man. :p
    With Toure at centreback, Busquets will play the holding role - just as he did in the semi against Chelsea.

    ManU are suckers imo, anyway they played a fair game to go to finals, whereas the ref made Barca cheat thro'.

    Yeah. While I will never support United in a neutral match, I can't bring myself to support Barcelona in this one either.

    I'm just hoping for a high quality and up-tempo game.

    I believe Man Utd will win this one as with the wingbacks missing for Barca I believe they miss one of their key ingredients to success. I also believe that Man Utd also just have a better side.

    United never ever playe 4-4-2 in Europe, they will play 4-3-3 with Rooney wide left marking Messi.

    Amazingly... Barca are still favourites.

    I can't see United not scoring against that Barca back line, and we will catch them on the break, like we did at Arsenal.

    I can see the game becoming like the United Inter game tbh.

    Yeah fair enough. Obviously Carrick/Anderson in the midfield is better than Giggs/Scholes, but I'm just telling you what I heard.

    It wll be more glory for Man United. United will go with a 4-3-3 formation. What Hybrid has there is close but I feel it will be like this.
