Was by far and away our best against the Uzbeks last game.

Haven't really watched us play recently, since we were always going to qualify in this system... I only watch the big matches these days... But everytime I've seen him play he's been one of our worst.

  3. Speirz DG Speirs

He's usually either one of our worst and nabs a goal, or one of our best and is unlucky. In the last match he hit the crossbar and set up our two best chances other than the goal.

Haha, by that system he was shit in the home leg against Uruguay to make the WC06, which I would probably agree with.

lol, why should i piss off from this thread. i've given u lot credit haven't i

do i have to name 10 better english defenders than Moore. OMG he was shocking at Newcastle and probs shocking now

2bf i do watch abit of South Amercian football when it's on Sky Sports so i have a bit of knowledge about the teams knowing that we would only get beaten by Brazil and Argentina

Again you beat someone in a friendly, get over yourself. they means nothing except giving youngsters ago

  8. mouse MJ Edwards

    i doubt that very much

  9. Speirz DG Speirs

Why say that you've got no knowledge of sides outside Europe then?

Also, if you expect that Brazil and Argentina would beat you, why not sides like Paraguay, Bolivia and Uruguay who regularly beat those two sides themselves?

In what other situation could you expect Australia to play against a top ten European side on their own soil? That can only occur if they're hosting the World Cup or Confederations Cup.

  10. mouse MJ Edwards

but you go on about beating teams in europe like it was in a competitive match. it's unbelievable

We would strugle against these teams but i'm confident we would beat them. we beat Paraguay in the world cup a couple of yeras ago for starters.

  11. Speirz DG Speirs

We take what we can get. The only chance we get to prove ourselves against the top sides is in friendlies and in the World Cup itself. I agree that people are hyping us up far too much, but given what we've achieved in such a short time it's more understandable.

Bolivia beat Argentina 6-1 in April. 6-1! Brazil got knocked off 2-0 by Paraguay not long ago as well. How can you be so confident of beating them in their own country?

  12. mouse MJ Edwards

i just would i'm aloud to be confident in our ability aren't i

I've respect what the aussies have achieved in such a small space of time.

I always fancy our chance wherever we go.

Bolivia would be hard because High Altitude but that 6-1 result will never happen again for a team like Bolivia against a team like Argentina

I'm talking about Moore right now, not when he was at Newcastle.

Just a figure of speech I guess. It seemed as if you were bashing the Australian national side for no reason.

I agree with that, but I also agree with Speirz when he said teams like Uruguay and Paraguay beat Argentina and Brazil regularly; because they do.

Well only time i saw Moore play was when he was at Newcastle and he wasn't anything special

  15. Magic AJ Parker

Think about this question and actually answer it honestly... if you only saw Moore play when he was at Newcastle which was what probably one tenth of his career why would you offer to name 10 defenders who are better than him?

  16. Cribbage RG Cribb

That doesn't put you in a great position to judge him then, does it?

The bloke's played 328 First Class games - only 31 have been for Newcastle. Even if you saw every Newcastle game (which is doubtful), you've missed over 90% of his games. Furthermore, anyone who's followed his career closely will testify to the fact that his time at Newcastle was far from an accurate reflection of his ability or his typical performances in the other 90% of his games, so it's not a good selection to judge by even if you must go by such a small sample size.

Honestly, because he was so poor at a EPL club i doubt that he would have improved that much whilst playing in Aus. even if he has improved he is playing in a weaker league so is going to look better than he did whilst he played in the EPL. sorry to say that but it's true

BTW i saw him a a few times for Rangers and that's not hard to look good when the only other good team is Celtic

Do you want me to name 10 better English CB i can do. some have retired from International football like Carra but i'll name them if you want. And you can agree or disagree but i'm 100% sure you will disagree

I would rather if you didn't list anything.
