    Haha. He had a great origin series, can't deny him. I'd still pick Goates on the left wing, but he fucked up in game 3 so he pretty much has no chance unless Brisbane make the GF, so he has no chance.

    Not really sure how I feel about them naming 5 Immortals. I’m Meninga’s biggest fan but yeah I dunno. I do think Provan was long overdue. Bloke was a giant among men....in both senses of the word.

    As long as the retrospective recognition is now over and it’s only present or recently retired players, I’m cool with it. But if they go naming Ron Coote or Peter Sterling next year I think they’ll kill the concept. It must continue to be based on exclusivity. 13 players over 110 years is still quite reserved and rightly so.

    Lockyer should be the only immortal named within the next 10 years imo. Then Smith etc.

    8 named since 1981, and NRL turn it into another hall of fame by inducting 5 in 1 year. Next inductee should be Lockyer and it shouldn't happen until about 2025, and then Smith after him. But the NRL will look at adding a few people every year and cunts like Cronk and Slater will get a spot.

    Nah I don’t think they will. I think this was an anomalous decision based on changing the rules to allow pre-war players to be considered. Cronk will never be an immortal. Slater probably won’t either.

    Smith, Thurston and Lockyer are the only ones I can see being named from now on.
