I'm half English . I just don't see the big outrage, why don't the players go buy some instead if they are so outraged? Would help a hell of a lot more then wearing them on their shirts.

Steve Kean has signed a new contract at Blackburn Rovers. It is an incredible show of confidence in the under-fire Blackburn boss by the club's wealthy Indian owners Venky's.Blackburn fans have held demonstrations against Kean, even hiring a light aircraft to display a banner "Steve Kean Out" during Saturday's defeat to Chelsea. But after weeks of talks over a new deal, Kean has agreed a new contract and put pen to paper which is likely to further infuriate upset fans.Kean, 44, was already on a contract until 2013 and the new deal is believed to give him better terms. The club owners appointed Kean after Sam Allardyce left the club and it has been an unpopular decision. But the latest development proves that the owners are fully behind Kean despite the unrest among the supporters.Rovers have been locked in a relegation battle all season and Kean is still among the bookies' favourites to be axed.

Ah well. Brings in money for the club, and the stadium won't physically change, neither will the atmosphere. Granted, itchanges a lot of history and shit, but apparently football doesnt care about it anymore, which is a massive shame.

    Stephen Hunt ftw!

That's just the name it's going with until an actual sponsor comes forward, for the stadium and strip rights.

    Fair enough really. Good idea.

I think it's a dire idea for an already existing stadium.

My opinion on the matter is if you move then of course you can rename your stadium for extra revenue eg Man City and Arsenal but if you sell the naming rights of a stadium you've been playing there for years then you're a sell out. I would hate it if we sold our naming rights from Anfield to another name just for some extra money. But if we move then I've got no problem with a sponsored stadium.

Fuck off Cevno, poppy is not a political statement.

I understand a compromise has been agreed but it's still a complete joke.
