Carney is the obvious choice here.

No he isn't, cunt :p Carney is the obvious choice for halfback. Obviously anyone who didn't pick Carney at 7 is probably going to pick him at 6 but you have to ask who is better suited to halfback? Based on what he did there for Canberra and what he does at first receiver for Cronulla I would pick him at 7.

  4. Rocks DN Boland

Carney. Should have played this year.

  5. Alex AJ O'Driscoll

    Out of interest, why Mullen?

  6. Alec AD Funkotron

Maloney because he has a combination with Pearce.

  7. LukeTyson L Tyson

    6. Carney
    7. Reynolds.

  8. Jazz NC Smith

I hope these polls result in Cricsim's 2014 NSW Team looking like:

    6. Todd Carney
    7. Todd Carney

Solid all-round player. Has the kick, has the pass, has the run. Like Carney, he doesn't run as much as he should but when he does he's a real threat because of his pace and footwork. He was criminally dropped after one game in 2007 in which despite having a poor night with the boot, was actually very solid in the other areas. He'll be 27 next year so he isn't lacking in experience.

    Smartarse :p

Based on the polls so far th combination would be Reynolds/Carney.

    Carney fo sho.

Mullen is probably the most under rated player ever though.

Mullen can be very very inconsistent though.

That's true. I think he's been pretty consistent this year though. I want to see how he goes in a finals series and how he starts next year as well as City/Country.

  14. SM MD Dorn

    Bird is the word

  15. Cribbage RG Cribb

Yeah I want Mullen and Carney as our halves combination. I believe I made a couple of posts before this series hinting that I deep down wanted that as well. Would fill me with so much more confidence than anything else.

If Maloney keeps his spot and Carney comes in at halfback then I could definitely live with that though, as long as Bird moved back to the left edge and Hayne was fullback.

For ages he was pretty horribly overrated. He was a real rocks or diamonds player for a while, for every 40/20 he'd put in he would then fail to kick the ball into touch for a penalty. The worst thing used to be how often he'd drop the ball after breaking the line. He'd deadset drop it every time he got anywhere near the fullback.

This is spot on though. If he continues in this form then our best hope IMO is Carney and Mullen. They're pretty well suited to playing in a split halves combination. Mullen has had the best kicking game in the comp this year I'd reckon, and the two of them as genuine options on both side of the ruck + Farah out of dummy half would put a lot more pressure on Queensland's back three.

I still think Campese will and should be in the frame next year.

Carney has been seriously gun this season. He's really doscovered his running game again and it's carving teams. He's a must for either the six or seven.

    Campese/Carney

Carney all day, I want Adam at 7.and they'd combine really well.
