    I've almost always seen Barca as footballing heroes who play football as it was meant to be played, and always seen RM as villains who use underhanded and dirty tactics to win.

    No specific reason why, that's just how it's come to be due to the managers, players and Clásicos I've watched in my short time watching football.

    Which side do you prefer and why?

    Barca. The club just seems to have much more class. A stronger focus on bringing youth through, sponsored Unicef to be on their shirts.

    Real Madrid in my lifetime has just been a Galacticos buying up all the best talent.

    Always been Real.

    some of my fave players play for Real. I hate Barca for Busquets, and also their underlying arrogance.

    Also im a CR7 bumboy, so naturally dislike any team Messi plays for.

    Plus the fact Messi has only played for one team, unless you include Argentina, which even then gives you a grand total of 2.

    Real, going back to the mid 90s when Barca were very much the bigger of the two, and giving us a hard time in Europe - stupid foreigner rule meant we played Gary Walsh in net half the time. Also a friend at school was from Madrid, so it became natural to support them.

    Dislike of Barca is second only to Juve hatred when it comes to foreign teams.

    I was a massive fan of what Barca did with Unicef, but I've become a bit cynical about it now given that they followed it up with massive shirt sponsorship deals that they had snubbed in the past. They basically seemed to use a charity in order to get their fans on board with shirt sponsorship, something that they'd been totally against in the past.

    Yeah I get that feeling too. Nobody ever mentions it but Barca are second to Madrid in transfer spending and recently have spent nearly as much. And with Madrid, the galactico idea has become so ingrained with the club that it is pretty much their identity. They shouldn't take a radical shift from their identity, especially considering it still works.
