    Yeah, it doesn't really make them "worse" than anyone else or anything like that, but if they'd just said they were going with the Qatar Foundation or whoever as sponsors and then donated to Unicef off their own back it wouldn't have seemed as manipulative in my eyes. Catalan people look at that club as such a symbol and for a while it seemed like it was a spot on the kit that could never be bought for any price. It's just a shame in my eyes that they lost that prestige. In a similar vein I'm sure a day will come when Athletic Bilbao have to make a decision about only using Basque players in their side, and it'll be a shame when they inevitably recruit someone from outside that region.

    Haha that is such a great analogy

    Tbf they may genuinely have gone about it with good intentions to start with. You could well be right in that they just did it to get the fans used to sponsorship, but even then having Unicef on the shirt raises more awareness than just donating privately. Even if their motives were nefarious they're still the only club to actually do it afaik. It's like bagging on a Christian for being charitable just because the bible tells him to. Sure he might only be doing what he's doing to get into heaven but at least he's doing it.

    We came up against them a fair bit in Europe in the 90's, and they invariably came out on top. There was also something about Deschamps I never liked, and Paolo Montero was the dirtiest fucker around. Nothing was sweeter than coming back from 2 down in the 99 semi..

    I've always been a Barcelona fan every since about 96, for me was the way they play football, obviously the players they have had has been awesome, but also unlike Madrid they don't just spend money for the sake of buying anyone with a bit of buzz, while pissing off the rest of the team.

    Some of the stuff she comes up with is bollocks and obvious trolling but there is plenty I agree with, e.g, her stance on fatties. And she does it with great wit.

    And she was entertaining as hell on Celebrity BB, where she came 2nd. She was actually the only sane and likeable one on there.

    There's one thing trolling a person who gives as good as they get online, but using your platform in the media to fire vile insults and abuse at whole swathes of society, most of whom have no way to defend themselves on a public level. Thats not trolling, thats being an utter cunt.

    To do it because you generally believe it is despicable, but to do it for attention and fame is so much worse that its hard to put a word on it.
