    U2 is pretty obviously an influence upon Coldplay (moreso their earlier work, from what I bothered to listen to of their more recent stuff they seem to have diverged into a bit more of an electronic flavour) - the whole pop-rock stadium thing with the ambient atmosphere and delay guitar lines etc.

    Although I do agree with Alec in that I think Radiohead is moreso the band that they attempt to emulate, Chris Martin has definitely given The Bends and OK Computer a number of spins.

    It's quite clear that you have very limited knowledge and I scoff at the suggestion you know more than me about music. 15 or so more years of listening and playing in bands would hold no weight in your unyielding and ill-informed opinion. You would never concede because of your inherent pseudo-intellectualism. You will continue to attempt to flex intellect that does not exist within your own mind...and you would just continue telling me I am avoiding the argument and end every post with the word "muppet", "clown", "idiot" or something. And should I continue to display superior knowledge or have a differing opinion, then you will revert to your thesaurus and insult me with words that you never knew existed, and probably cannot even pronounce.
