Tart's TT XV vs. Cambridge XV (vBookie)

2nd Half

43rd Minute:

Penalty to the Cambridge XV. James not releasing the ball at ruck time. Hunt goes for the punt downfield. And he's messed that one up too. Good distance, but it stays in play. Paddy Orr picks up the ball cleanly and has a good run up to the Cambridge line. Orr with a mediocre pass away to James. And it's been fumbled. Knock on, and it's time for a scrum on the Tarts' 22 line.

Oh, good scrum there pushes the Tarts forwards back. Lee Sweetman peels away from the back of the scrum with the ball and after a short run, he fires a cut out pass down the line. Great move here, and it looks like the overlap is on! Away to Son and he's in space! He runs away to the corner and dots down! Try to Cambridge XV!

This is a difficult conversion from here, and no surprises given the day he's having, Hunt misses.

Tarts 14 - 17 Cambridge

 

46th Minute

James with a good burst here. Gains a few metres and nearly reaches the
Cambridge 22m line. He's greeted on approach by a solid tackle from Welker. Verigotta and Sweetman follow through and turn James, earning a turnover. The turnover catches the Tarts defence in disarray and Farnikolo with the ball bursts through a gap in the ill ordered defensive line.


Farnikolo touches down under the posts and dances a big-fish-little-fish-cardboard-box before the tired looking defence track back.


Hunt can't miss from here... But somehow, he kicks that into the upright. Another missed conversion.

Tarts 14 - 22 Cambridge

 

53rd Minute

Izett tries to rumble the ball through the Cambridge defensive line but is well tackled by Ben Storer. Support for Izett comes from Manera, Torres and Masters to secure the ball. Herd gets the ball and breaks the line making some good yards. Just before he is tackled, he offloads to Kyle Tait who is tackled by that man Storer again.

Welker and Morris follow in and it looks like Cambridge may secure the ball here, but the ref blows up. Hands in the ruck is the call. That's a penalty to the Tarts. Only 15m out, and Ames will go for the three points.

He completes the penalty kick successfully. That brings the Tarts back within a try.

Tarts 17 - 22 Cambridge

 

60th Minute.

Choco Man comes on for Sam Verigotta, who receives a warm round of applause.

Kyle Tait trots off for Sam Green.

Brian Quilty comes on for Sam Bakkum
Will Robinson comes on for Shane Masters

 

74th Minute

It's been a good run of play for the Tarts here. A slow build up in the face of some solid Cambridge defence, but slowly and surely, the Tarts are moving up the field.

Paddy Orr with the ball, but he's hit hard by Eddie Morris. A lesser player wouldn't have been able to hold on there, but Orr shows great ball security to not only keep hold of it, but to turn and allow Cribb easy access to the ball.

Sam Green gets the ball, but makes absolutely no progress as Denton tackles him with a hint of off side. Play on is the call, and Robinson, Laing and Miokovic dive into the ruck and secure the ball again.

Ben Herd gets the ball from Cribb and sprints around Morris at the fringe. Great pass here from Herd finds Fung on the run. He can spy the try line just in front of him...
