Halfback. Chief playmaker. Can't get the job done it seems.

Storm didn't even trust him on the field in a grand final, and you expect NSW to trust him to run the side for 80mins?

They have a fair number of options, but 1 thing's certain: When Freddy releases his side; get ready to scratch your head...

Be interesting to see what Slater does. Gilbert will almost certainly be replaced by Kaufusi.

Arrow will likely be out injured too so the 17 needs to be filled. Some options are: Nanai, Capewell, Welch, Fotuaika, Su'a, Horsburgh.

I'll be really surprised if Fittler changes much at all. He knows it was a game they could've and should've easily won in that last 12 minutes. Latrell obviously comes in. Martin will start imo. And maybe TPJ gets benched or dropped. I cant see any other changes he's likely to make.

Agree with SP and Wilson. I'd be picking Reynolds and Hynes in the halves.

I can easily see him dropping TPJ, Api, Luai, Young, Crichton and possibly Turbo.

And I wouldn't be surprised if he goes with Reynolds and Cody, which probably means Hynes is gone too.

Chief playmaker for the best attacking team in the comp..

He can’t defend for 16 other people.

  8. Cribbage RG Cribb

I'm not totally convinced of Hynes but "his team loses" is such a shallow low IQ analysis.

  9. Wilson SB Wilson

Hahaha oh don’t hit me where it hurts.

It’s a team game is it not? By your same logic saying “Hynes doesn’t win against top 8 teams” is no different.

It’s no different to people pinning us fading out in the finals last year. In the first final we scored 30 points and still lost.

He can’t defend for 16 other people.

    Cribbage likes this.

No I'm agreeing with you by saying that criticising him for the results of his team, that take into account the performances of a bunch of other players, is dumb.

Thats true but I think Gemmell isnt entirely off the mark. I think his point speaks more to the fact that Hynes, himself, hasnt played too well in some losses to the better sides. Goes missing, flat track bully, I've heard a few people say.

The best one is people picking Reynolds because 'he knows every blade of grass at Suncorp, and plays there every week." Gimme a fucking break. He's a footballer not the fookin groundskeeper. The crowd wont be on his side when he's in a blue jersey.

His kicking game, and game management are why I think he's the next best option.

  13. Wilson SB Wilson

Ahh copy, misread it, my apologies.

  14. Wilson SB Wilson

I’ll be the first to admit there has been a few where has overplayed his hand rather than going missing. For the vast majority however though the Sharks have beaten themselves in those games against the top sides.

The playmaking, the shape and the attack have all been good in those games, it’s the execution and discipline that costs the Sharks.

    and Moylan

It never really gets old watching NSW cannibalise after a loss, but this is hectic. Reminds me of the 09-11 period when they won only 1 live game in 3 years.

Everyone and his dog is under pressure to hold their spot.

  16. Boobidy BJ Gemmell

You've used a lot of words to say Hynes crumbles under pressure.

  17. Cribbage RG Cribb

    You have a low IQ.

There's a train of thought going round that Penrith's Yeo/Cleary distribution structure doesnt work in Origin because of increased defensive line speed. And that they ought to shelve it for a more direct style in which Yeo focuses on just taking hitups and the halves playing more traditionally at first receiver.

What do people think of this?

  19. Boobidy BJ Gemmell

    Best way to get employment.

Latrell far from certain to be fit for game 2 apparently. Would be a massive out. He's by far their most dangerous player imo.
