Possible change to OD abilities

    Yeah, the only two things I don't like about the current system are:

    1. The slightly unrealistic difference between OD and FC abilities.
    2. The fact that there's a sudden and complete change at the end of every season. You could go from being the best OD player on the site to suddenly just not being selected at all, which is really unrealistic.

    Huge fan, makes it a tad more realistic because someone inactive like Bullpitt shouldn't be that shit in ODers since he rips up against the same players in FC

    Would this mean bringing a 2nd tier OD tournament in too, to ensure that reasonably active n00bs still get game time? Thinking of Himannv and Squeaks, for example here.

    Also, it seemed to me that the difference between active and inactive wasn't that big anyway. So, it's a bit of a non-issue for my money.

    I think Cribb's arguments in this thread have been pretty good, this would make it much more realistic and with the second grade comp everyone would be getting games.

    I like this idea. I think the huge fluctuation [and its unrealism] in terms of FC to OD ability is enough to determine it alone.

    Yeah, I've already said that'll be happening this season regardless. Each innings will be auto-simmed with the press of a single button though rather than the manually controlled live OD first XI matches we have.

    Sounds good. System seems way too fickle and it seems to punish people who are around and checking the system but can't post as much as the n00bs.

    ODactivity which was previously used to determine ODI ability isn't only based on Post counts, as Eds and Bakkum showed too.:p

    Just the way you've worded that is so confusing...

    It would benefit the people who have been around for a long time who still post quite a lot nowadays I guess
