Player movements and rumours

Mailata is going to be a fucking gun over there once he's settled in. He'll be the catalyst for a vacuum of players doing similar, and more than likely NFL scouts poaching youngsters far earlier. He'll be a good thing in that respect though as he went over and got told what position is best for him. All the knuckle head arm chair drongos watch his tape from over here and name just about every offensive position that handles the ball which could be good for him.

Holmes will more than likely do the aforementioned knuckle head arm chair drongo line of thinking, similar to Hayne, pursuing some disillusioned kick returner / running back fantasy. If I'm right, he'll bum out and be back playing for the Cowboys before you know it. He should do what Mailata did and attend their training camps and present his measurables and let them determine what position is best. For what it's worth, I think he'd make a decent safety if he spent the time to learn the position.

Bet you enjoyed those tears of joy at the Granny in '16

I think he'd be ok as a return specialist while he was learning the game better, but I could see him at safety long term

Problem is return specialists rarely make the final cut nowadays unless they are competent in another primary role.

Hayne was just as gifted as Holmes as an agility ball runner. And he’s bigger too. I can’t see Holmes making it.

Gallen’s reaction is lolworthy tho. If this is some principled objection to players breaking contracts, where was it when a player broke their contract to join Cronulla?

'It’s understood the alleged victim was interviewed by the NRL’s integrity unit before the matter was referred to police.'

so hayne's 'victim' goes to the nrl instead of the police. geez i wonder why

So glad common sense prevailed regarding Bennett/Seibold.

  8. Wilson SB Wilson

Don't think common sense prevailed; the Broncos were finally in a position to do what they wanted to all along and punt the old bastard.

Losing Holmes has worked out pretty well for the Sharks

Giving their misso's a job buffing Politis' lobby isn't a TBA bro.

  13. Magic AJ Parker

Alex Twal wouldn't be a bad replacement for Napa.

How many players do the Tigers need to shed?

    We could take Nofalamu too.

Just shows how shit the Broncos are, 12 years with every single advantage imaginable in an era where the salary cap has made the competition so tight and every advanatge more pronounced and they still haven't won jack.

There are clearly some disadvantages to being a Brisbane based team as well.

Saying they have every advantage imaginable is clearly an exaggeration. They don’t.
