Yeah I don't think so either. Very few teams exist with the traditional set up though. Most teams with a real half send a five-eighth to one side of the field 80% of the time and rely on a backrower/fullback to work as a five-eighth on the other side though. Manly and Melbourne are 2 perfect examples Foran/Stewart and Widdop/Slater. Souths as well but they fail because they don't have anyone bar the halves that can ball play.

Roosters are the most traditional halves pairing IMO.

They rely on Anasta a lot.

NSW now have such a dearth of options at centre. Jennings has played about 15 good minutes in 4 matches. Hopoate was blooded but won't be available next year. Hayne will get found out and won't be an option either. Cooper, Lyon and Gasnier are all retired from rep footy.

You've got Lawrence, Jennings, Idris, J.Morris and Croker. And we know they'll never move Lewis there.

Deadset, NZ has a better selection of centres to pick from.

Thompson played City Country pretty well. He'll be in the mix.

He wouldn't have even made City/Country if Idris hadn't been picked for Australia.

At least Croker is being talked up by former Blues. Thompson isn't popular enough to get picked IMO.

If Tigers make the 8 I reckon Ayshford will be there next year.
