Just heard this on the radio, really do think he was one of the worst candidates for the job.

I can't see him just being a front man to get them fired up either like Meninga is with assistant coaches in the back ground. Reckon he thinks he knows best and will impose his will.

Wasn't he sacked as a selector not long ago for being a hopeless cunt?

    This pleases me.

Awesome resume at rep level must have got him over the line

    - Sacked as a NSW selector
    - Coaching the continual under performing Country side

Wow what a terrible decision. I can just see him sitting there whn selecting the team with a piece of paper saying "he's a good plaaaaaaaaaa, he's a good plaaaaaaa, not so good plaaaaa".

Cunt can't even put together a coherent sentence, how's he gonna put together a team win origin.

Just for the fact it's Daley, I guarantee we win next years series.

What a terrible day.... broadcast deal status quo for fans and daley nsw coach.... Might as well not watch origin for the next two years.

Would be pretty lols if we went on to win next year.

Can definitely see the team being a mixture of country/canberra boys

It was like Lui at halfback, your head told you it shouldn't work, the facts told you it couldn't work, as you watched you could tell it didn't work and yet somehow it came together and worked and Tigers would win games.

Daley to white wash two series. I don't think Tommy or fatty were exactly geniuses and they got the job done.

Who cares, coaches don't do anything except say general stuff, run general plays during training and collect big pay cheques for barely doing shit all. Only area he can really stuff up in is the actual selection of the side... which I guess he will.

I know you're jesting but for the sake of argument (imagine me saying that :p)...

Raudonikis won one series when all of the Super League players were out (which affected QLD a hell of a lot more than NSW because we simply don't have the same depth). And in the NRL inauguration the year after (1998) he was the first NSW coach to lose a home series in 10 years. And unlike him, Daley won't have a, well, Laurie Daley to pick :p Nor a Fittler or Johns. He was a dud. His coaching plan consisted of Cattle Dog and sweet fuck all else.

Vautin was most definitely an anomaly. Biggest upset in Origin history and that required, firstly, two home games (which Daley won't have) and secondly, a near flawless selection policy and run with injuries (only one change made all series). Neither of these will happen and he'll be facing one of the greatest Origin sides in history.

The only way NSW stand a chance is if Daley actually improves on the selections that Stuart made. He has to pick Carney. He has to pick Farah. He has to pick Bird. He has to pick Tamou. He has to pick all the quality players that Stuart did. And then improve in the other areas. I just can't see it happening though. I will not be at all surprised to see Reynolds in there (if the Blues lose Game 1 and Pearce has another poor game). If Hayne is killing it at 6 with Parra next year, he could get a run. Gidley is a chance of halfback if the Knights are top 4. Seriously. I would not be surprised to see NSW trot out a halves combination of Reynolds or Hayne + Gidley or Mullen at some point in the series. Especially if the Blues get badly beaten in Game 1 and the halves play poorly.

No seriously. I think we'll win with Daley. Shit like that just happens for no reason.

just pick two five eighths with hayne at fullback already

Really don't think Stewart should be dropped. Hayne won't even being playing fullback next year and he didn't do much for NSW in his few games there.
