Very much looking forward to these trials. If trades are limited or we can't organise something decent then I'll definitely be looking at trialing a four-man attack. Manhas, van Wyk and Tharanga to battle it out for the seventh batsman slot. Only problem is that genuinely none of my batsmen can even roll the arm over, even as a handy variety.

Haha yeah, was just saying to Cribb how I'd be trialing the four man attack of

    Pankaj, Friend, Fidel and Rampaul

    Ha, cute

My side has 2 question marks in the attack, Friend being the likeliest, the others all being about even in my eyes

And 2 in the batting. So basically I'll try to avoid playing the guys I know for certain will be playing so I can field the best team possible in round 1.

Yeah, I think I'll give Misbah, Kaushal and Mitch rests. If we need to win games to get more trials then I might use Mitch in my four-man attack though.

But yeah, Friend looks a definite in your side, for me. Wouldn't consider him a question mark personally. One of the two in the batting must be VVS pushing - drop Franklin, bring in Laxman, hand the ball to Samaraweera, ???, profit.

I rate Rampaul and Fidel fairly highly so I reckon they're all roughly equals. They're all at the level of 2nd class Test or top class domestic blokes. None of them are really all that close to being at the tipity top. Rueing not picking Wagner now after his recent series against India. I'd have him in for sure.

Yeah I was surprised with that. I understand Dhawan in Plan A, but given how strong the rest of your attack is I was surprised you didn't have a Plan B which included a batting allrounder instead; someone who's a better batsman than Dhawan but a worse bowler could suit your team better. I think your Round 12 should've been a batting allrounder really.

I think the closest thing you've got to a batting allrounder is Manhas, and if averaged under 65 as the regular fifth bowler in a team I'd be surprised.

I tried picking up a batting AR but they were taken several picks before me on a number of occasions. Definitely should have settled for a slightly weaker player though really.

    Mendis ftw

    AWTA :p

Should've picked Allenby ahead of Dhawan tbh

This is yet to start for the same reason CricSim is on a long break with the Crusaders at the top of the table - Cribb wants to see me win.

So it looks like someone's going to have to trade me a batting all-rounder.

I did make you an offer... :ninja:

    Offer for Dilshan?

  15. Cribbage RG Cribb

Dilshan would actually be so awesome for Eds.

    I didn't realise he needed a keeper?

  17. Eds E Ames

I don't. What I do need is more Sri Lankans, though.

A Test standard opener who can bowl would just be immense for you though. You know this.

  19. Benny BS Read

Haha yeah suits his needs big time and given I already have a part time spinner in smitteh if he can offer me an improvement batting wise or a better spinner who can't necessarily bat to give shillingford support we could both end up stronger IMO.

Don't do it Benny. Ensure Eds' team remains shit.
