Barrett is definitely the best bench player in the world.
Barrett should become a fullback I think.
Maybe on top form Manu might be more of a threat, but it seems like every game for the All Blacks Barrett comes off the bench and runs through everyone.
And it seems like every game Manu is injured...
Nah, he'd still be behind Ben Smith so no point. There's no way he'll start at FB for the Canes ever again either with our FB depth (NMS, Jane, Woodward, Marshall)
There's no way Barrett should be a fullback. People forget how good his running game is. First off this year before he got injured he was in amazing form and everyone always says he's never played well for the ABs but I remember him in probably one of his best gamed ever (apart from the goal kicking) in a rainy night in Napier against the Pumas.
How does that make Barrett ill-suited to fullback, or support the argument that he should be at fly-half rather than at the back?
He's a play maker, a trait much better suited to 10. As a whole he's a better 10. I remember when the Canes were starting him at 15 with Pisi at 10. He was decent but Barrett at 10 was the much better option.
You must not no the game I'm talking about. I see how saying he has a great running game isn't saying he's a better 10 but it's obviously Barrett has a great short and long kicking game and in that match he was a beautiful playmaker taking the ball to the line and putting guys in wholes or taking the wholes himself.
Our recruiting power knows no bounds
Reminds me of this guy http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...Manager-Vugar-Huseynzade-got-FC-Baku-job.html
Interview with Henry Slade at my old school. Pretty fucking weird experience watching that
Eddie Jones gets the England job
He was the guy I wanted. So pretty happy with that
I think Jake White would have been a better fit for a Northern Hemisphere teams. England not to win the 2019 world cup on this news. Eddie Jones will encourage them to play yes percentage rugby but also 15 man rugby. I think Jake White would have consolidated England's forward play with the backs chipping in 1-2 tries per game.
Jake White most underrated coach in the world. I would have him as the next AB coach before I would have Gatland.
I think the World Cup made England look worse than they are. I think they are probably the best of the NH teams already although Ireland are very close.
Had they had Manu instead of Burgess they would have progressed to the knockout stages.
I also think England are a great team but they have a confidence problem of not believing in themselves against the premier teams in the world. I also think they are a team like Australia - they only really have 22 test match standard players with a lot of guff after that, which means that selection decisions are absolutely critical for England yet for some reason whoever they pick at coach seems to be a boob at picking players unless he has about twenty matches to experiment with.
Judging by the fans on this web site and how they talk there also appears to be a 180 degree disconnect as to how the game should be played between people from the SH and NH. Which is never going to be resolved. England need to come to the self realisation that they are a NH team and pick a coach that will play to their strengths rather than implementing a wider open style. Jake White was that man.
Jake White didn't want the job afaik. He's being lined up for performance director iirc.
My bad about White, so thanks for that update.
Did find this quote which furthers my point that Jones will try to change England into more of a SH team which is the wrong move. England have won a world cup and can again in their own style.
And White said he would have liked the job had they just offered it to him, but they wanted him to do a beauty contest against Jones.
