Not if they sign the bloke they've been chasing for the last few weeks - Joaquin Rodriguez.

DWTA. Even if Ferguson makes no signings (which he will, I can see Benzema going to United), United will still finish in the top two next season IMO.

Liverpool must sign three or four players as both starters and cover to maintain another title challenge.

Chelsea are in a good position and don't need to make many changes.

Arsenal need, IMO, 2 or 3 established quality players in areas of grave emergency.

yeh chelsea are in good position, but roman vs. drogba can turn things around, if provoked again. Plus a winger is needed, cant rely on the only "two", if they fail we've got newbies.

This season there were 12 points difference between 5th and 8th. That's a huge gap considering the quality of the teams between 5th and 8th.

Despite Everton and Aston Villa not getting anywhere near the Champions League in the end, they were clearly the two best teams out of the rest of the Premier League. That's the difference and, IMO, Tottenham will join them next season (effectively where they belong anyway) so those three clubs will occupy 5th, 6th and 7th between them. IMO, there will be a significant gap between 7th and 8th in terms of both points and quality.

City are still a bit dodgy for me. They will be stuck in mid-table again next season unless Hughes uses all the vast resources available to him.

City already have enough players to play two teams at a time, just dont know to use them.

    Eriksson wants top-flight return

[IMG] Eriksson managed Manchester City for one season in 2007/08

Sven-Goran Eriksson's agent admitted a return to the Premier League would interest the former England boss. Eriksson has been linked with a move to Portsmouth, who are being taken over by billionaire Sulaiman Al Fahim.
However the Swede's agent Athole Still told BBC Radio 5 Live: "He doesn't like talking about a club when a manager is in place and neither do I.
"Without specifying Portsmouth, of course, he would be interested in a Premier League club with ambition."
Eriksson, 61, was linked with Portsmouth following Tony Adams' departure in February but was contracted to the Mexico national side at the time and Paul Hart was appointed caretaker manager at Fratton Park .
However, Eriksson - who led England to three major tournament quarter-finals during his six-year reign as national coach - was sacked a month later due to a disappointing start to their World Cup qualifying campaign.

Not my first choice but will obviously support him and the club

Still says his client is now ready to return to the club game in England, where he led Manchester City to a ninth-place finish in 2008 before being sacked after just a year in charge.
"All that I would say at the moment is he has an interest in coming back to the Premier League, and has an interest in being involved with any club that has genuine ambitions," added Still.
"He wants to be back in the game within weeks rather than months, and has offers on the table at home and abroad.
"At this moment in time, there has been no official approach from Portsmouth, though."
It was anticipated that Hart would be given a long-term deal to manage Pompey after steering the club clear of relegation during his caretaker spell which started in February.
This was before the takeover by Arabian property tycoon Al Fahim was announced on Wednesday, with the deal expected to be formalised in the next few weeks.
Al Fahim was the initial figurehead of the Abu Dhabi United Group when they took control of Manchester City last year, but is now acting for himself.

I wouldn't mind seeing Eriksson back at the EPL. He's an excellent club manager and I never really quite understood the reason for his sacking from a then poorer Manchester City after being in the Top 3 for the majority of the season and then finishing a respectable 9th.

Yeh. Shinawatra was a strange man tbh, and he made that desicion I think. He was such a good manager for Lazio and I remember him taking them to the Serie A title back in 2000ish IIRC.

  18. Hybrid A Kolar

Yeah it was Shinawatra who made the call, but it was a stupid one IMO.

Eriksson has been extremely successful as a club manager, his days in Sweden and at Lazio are a testament to that, not to mention taking City from no-name relegationers/mid-tablers to European challengers. His sacking was one of the most retarded decisions by a chairman I've ever seen.

Like you've said Hybird Sven has a very good club record. He even got City into Euorpe. Ok it was through the fair play award but still into Europe and got sacked. Did a very good job at Lazio but he did have alot of money to spend

    EPL lacks Mourinho....
