Seems Götze is playing, wasn't in the squad list on the DFB website

Weidenfeller, Schmelzer, Boateng, Mertesacker, Westermann, Sven Bender, Lars Bender, Reus, Kroos, Götze, Kruse.

    Wasn't too far off :ninja:

I don't think depth is too bad at CB, once everyone is fit Boateng/Badstuber/Hummels/Mertesacker is a strong set of CB's, the biggest issue is the full backs.

Then you have young CB's like Ginter, Knoche and Rüdiger who are Bundesliga regulars and looking very impressive. So I don't think CB is too much of a worry for Germany going forward. Full backs are the big worry as there's literally no-one of note coming through right now.

CF depth is a worry however, Klose/Gomez/Kruse/Kießling (shame that Löw is stubborn) is decent enough, but apart from Kruse they aren't getting any younger.

Germany needs the likes of Volland and Lassoga to hopefully take that next step, they look like they are going to break out Bundesliga wise this season hopefully.

The lack of good young CF's coming up is part of the reason Germany are going with a false nine, so perhaps putting the amount of attacking midfielders to good use.

Yeah, surely a false nine is fine when the three behind are so good?

Disappointed Draxler isn't starting (Gotze on the right?) but suppose Kruse deserves a chance.

Ballack thinks only four of todays first XI will make the plane to Brazil. Hmm.

Is Tyldsley watching the same game I am?

Tyldsley watches everything through a red filter.

Just tragic marking for the goal. Terry back for Brazil. Racist cunt he may be, but properly commands the area.

    Smalling is a horrific defender.

His play on Chile's 2nd goal was lol worthy as well

    Kroos, Mertesacker, Boateng and...?

  8. SuperNova SJ Nova

He's probably thinking Kroos, Reus, Götze, Boateng

Probably doesn't rate Mertesacker or thinks Höwedes will go as a CB/RB back up so Mertesacker wouldn't be needed.

Personally I would say Kroos, Reus, Götze, Boateng, Mertesacker and maybe L.Bender (50/50) will go. Though only Reus, Kroos, Boateng as starting XI players.

    Has Hummels been subbed?

  10. SuperNova SJ Nova

    Yep, injury.

That was woeful by England BTW. All their attacking players bar a couple are so easy to defend against as they only have one foot. Townsend either tries to cut in onto his left, or sprint to the corner flag and double back to try and cut in, so easy to read.

Someone teach the young players to kick with both feet man.

6 wins in a row at Wembley now for Germany though I think

That can't be right, you didn't technically win against England at Euro 96.

Is there a more over-rated player in the world right now than Andros Townsend by the way? He's absolute shit.

  12. PienaarColada DH Mulray

Hilarious, isn't it? He's an English James McClean.

He's trying to be the new Gareth Bale by cutting inside constantly and shooting from everywhere and anywhere.

He's had more shots than anyone else in the league this season...and his solitary goal came from a cross that evaded everyone and ended up in the net.

Reus. Definitely an over exaggeration in the "this is their second team" point IMO.

    anyone play well for us?

Townsend is definitely overrated, but he's not absolutely shit.

Maybe, it's a really tough system to make work. You sort of give up on scoring any goals from crosses, which should really be a big strength for Germany.

Doesn't look like a popular opinion but I thought Townsend was pretty good. Cleverley had a good first half.

It was a much better performance than vs Chile I thought. Maybe that's even more concerning- they put the effort in and played close to their potential but still deservedly lost.

You'd think they'd still be a threat with Muller at the back post though.

As much as I love football, especially the Premiership.... I can barely drag myself to watch England play....it's so uninspiring and boring. I feel so sorry for the really young kids growing up watching this shit.
