You said the same thing last year when smashed by Canberra. You're finished.

Canberra still wont make the 8.

Disappointed that I missed the first 60 minutes of this game, will definitely have to catch the replay tonight. How did McCrone play?

I was willing Dragons on for the sake of the Broncos, but after reading this thread I think it is hilarious that they beat them. Lol at the 1st 5 or so pages.

**** that was an exciting second half to call. I also got to do it in my 2nd call so I smashed that shit in an hour and a half.

On ya Canberra. You'll make the 8 from here.

  11. Colesy BL Hornby

    No they wont.

    Do the ladder predictor.

    They'll miss it.

  12. Lukic L Popovic

They'll thump the Cowboys and the loser of Warriors/Brisbane will be under heaps of pressure.

Yeah, but then Canberra play Brisbane for 8th spot.

    Top 8 will be
    Dragons
    Titans
    Panthers
    Tigers
    Roosters
    Manly
    Warriors
    Brisbane

Brisbane should beat Canberra with Lockyer back, and that will pretty much seal the top 8.

All of you lot were confident that you'd put Newcastle away comfortably, and look what happened there. The Raiders also well and truly hammered us not too long ago.

"with Lockyer back" was a pretty key phrase in his post, although tbf Lockyer wouldn't have improved their terrible defence on Friday.

  17. Speirz DG Speirs

Yeah, but they still lost to us by 26, and the Raiders beat us by 34. That's a pretty significant turn around for the return of one half-fit player to have. I'm not saying they can't do it, particularly at home, but they don't deserve to be easy favourites IMO.

We were bad, but take away the bad ref calls, the fluke Newcastle tries in the 1st half, and the Broncos prolly wouldn't have given up as easily, especially if Locky was there.

You played a lot better against Brisbane than you did against Canberra as well though, it must be noted. It's the nature of a team that plays like yours does; it'll just be hopelessly inconsistent. I don't think any comparisons involving Newcastle really mean anything because the team makes no sense anyway.

I think it's worthwhile, because any serious team should be able to get into a grinding game and beat us through sheer organisation and professionalism. I'd say the easiest way to beat us would be to play the traditional 'finals-type' football. Just focus on completing sets and getting into good field position. Turn it into a battle based on metre-eating and kicking, and you'll get us 9 times out of 10, if not more.
