MEN'S DOUBLES FINAL - MONTE CARLO
    Match in progress - Burridge/O'Driscoll vs. Rhodes/Weaver

Jonty Rhodes and Gareth Weaver have left New South Wales' Morgan Burridge and Alex O'Driscoll a mountain to climb, after they took the second set of their doubles final in Monte Carlo.

While the Burridge/O'Driscoll pairing was far more competitive in the second set, they were again undone by their serving game, with the Kiwi duo being given too many chances.

While Rhodes' service was broken for the first time in the third game, the 2-1 lead was given up immediately as O'Driscoll faltered with a poor first serve that was easily put away by Weaver.

Burridge's next service game saw a tight tussle that involved six deuces, before Weaver again managed to hit a big forehand that was only just returned by the New South Welshman. Rhodes put away the easy volley to set up the 4-2 lead, but, serving for the set, Weaver was broken to return the set on serve to 5-4.

Unfortunately for the New South Wales pairing, though, they couldn't serve to stay in the set, as Rhodes/Weaver took a two-set leave 6-4.

MEN'S DOUBLES FINAL - MONTE CARLO
    Match in progress - Burridge/O'Driscoll vs. Rhodes/Weaver

New Zealand's Jonty Rhodes and Gareth Weaver have claimed their first career title together, following a straight sets win over Morgan Burridge and Alex O'Driscoll.

Following the drama of the second set, the third set was far more straightforward as the Kiwis took an early break of serve and were content to cruise to victory.

Some handy work from Weaver at the net allowed them to take a 1-0 lead to commence the third set, and from there the New Zealanders came up with the big points at the most crucial moments to shut the Aussies out of the set.

While Burridge/O'Driscoll saved three break points throughout the set, they made it to deuce just once as Rhodes/Weaver calmly advanced to the title 6-1, 6-4, 6-4.

MEN'S SINGLES FINAL - MONTE CARLO
Match in progress - Vimes vs. McDougal

Norway's Samuel Vimes has made the perfect start to his singles final against fellow Celtic Provinces representative James McDougal, as he shut the Scot out of the first set in dominant fashion.

In little over half an hour, Vimes did not drop a game, as his opponent played poorly and right into his hands in a horrific first six games of tennis. While he managed to bring up two break points on Vimes' serve throughout the set, both times he dumped simple rally strokes into the net to allow Vimes to hold three times.

On the flipside, McDougal's serving was not working for him, as he only managed to get one-in-two first serves in. In a horror end to a diabolical set, the nervous Scot double faulted to give Vimes set point, and then sprayed a backhand a good foot wide as Vimes took the set 6-0.

MEN'S SINGLES FINAL - MONTE CARLO
Match in progress - Vimes vs. McDougal

Samuel Vimes has moved to the brink of claiming the title in Monte Carlo, after he took a competitive second set against Scotland's James McDougal.

Recovering from a horror start to the match, McDougal finally got on the board in a comfortable first service game, and held a second time to be level at 2-2.

McDougal, whose form before this match had been tremendous, had a chance to go ahead a break at 3-2 as he finally showed some real skill to retrieve a ball from his backhand side and then chase down an attempted drop shot from Vimes for a 15-40 lead, but the solid Norwegian peeled off four points in a row to hold serve.

Disaster struck as McDougal dumped a forehand approach shot into the net to hand Vimes a break point in the next game, but he managed to hold him off to level at 3-3. In the tenth game, though, McDougal again faltered on his forehand side to give Vimes two set points, with the Norwegian converting the second with a great inside out forehand winner to take the set 6-4.

MEN'S SINGLES FINAL - MONTE CARLO
Match in progress - Vimes vs. McDougal

Norway's Samuel Vimes has claimed the men's singles title in Monte Carlo, after completing a comfortable straight sets win over James McDougal.

Having broken the Scot in the final game of the second set, Vimes came into the third full of confidence, where he produced consistent tennis to grind the increasingly desperate McDougal down.

The set got off to a flyer for Vimes, as he broke McDougal in the second game, as he pounced on a short forehand with a double-handed backhand winner into the back of the court.

Try as McDougal might, he couldn't get a read on the Vimes serve, as the Norwegian, who is usually at his worst starting points, managed to change it up well, and even come out of his camp on the baseline to serve-and-volley in a rare treat for the crowd.

McDougal had a brief look at a break point at 3-5, but Vimes saved that and advanced to deuce and, then, a match point. While McDougal saved that one, just two points later Vimes sealed the match as he drew an error with a heavy backhand, and secured the title 6-0, 6-4, 6-3.
