Says the scouser who didn't win anything in the last few seasons and failed miserably in the champions league. Should go and hide in shame.

Personally I didn't expect us to win because we've been playing so shithouse, the team looks like it lacks desire and motivation. I'm kinda glad they lost in a way because it might be a wake up to show they still need to give an effort and can't stroll to trophies like we did last year. Although im still obviously disappointed a far less deserving side won.

Congrats. I found it hard to believe you when you said that Ronaldo will be playing lone striker up front, but it turned out that way and IMO it was a massive mistake.

Ronaldo didn't know what to do half the time. He's not a strikers dick and belongs on the wing. Even after United's so-called 10 minute dominance period before the first goal, Ronaldo didn't threaten much and continued not to for the remainder of the first half. I think it was a massive tactical error on the part of Ferguson and should have started the game with Tevez or another out-and-out striker up front.

As far as I'm concerned, Manchester United improved when Tevez came on but not by much. They were soundly beaten in midfield and a lot of United's players had poor games either through lack of form or getting tired from chasing Barca's shadows ... I thought Park, Anderson and Vidic were among these who had particularly poor outings.

Congratulations to Barcelona. They deserved to win the match, but whether they deserved to be there in the first place is questionable. This Champions League win of theirs will always have that semi-final blemish on it, in my eyes.

Yeah, I pretty much jizzed every single time Iniesta and Xavi got the ball. They were so smooth, so slick. The passing accuracy and retention was at outrageously high levels, but this is nothing but the norm for Xavi and Iniesta who are pure freaking class.

IMO, the formational error from Ferguson and the possession game from Barcelona combined, sealed United's fate.

i thought carrick and giggs had nightmares!

and i felt sorry for rooney, who was kept out on the wing.. he should have played through the middle with tevez and had ronnie on the wing!!!

Yeah it was a terrible formation Sir Alex set up. Don't really know why he used it, It was never going to be successful.

AWTA. He should have stuck with the same side that did so well against Arsenal except Fletcher's replacement.

i still reckon united, on their day, would beat barca.

Bear in mind that the Barcelona you saw was missing several key players.

United just got it so wrong...

Shouldn't have played Park... should have put Robaldo wide, (he would have ****ed all over Sylvinho/Puyol) with Berbatov in the middle. Berbatov was exactly what United needed in that game, someone to slow the game down and allow United to build and keep possession... he was perfect for it.

Tevez maybe could have played instead of Giggs, but I wouldn't really want him in midfield... but he would have got in the faces of Iniesta and Xavi doing what Anderson was there to do, but failed.

Giggs played too high up the pitch, Fergie tried to have him do what he did against Inter, play with Giggs off a central striker running a free role into the gaps. Doesn't work against Barcas midfield.

one hundered percent agree, but it didnt help that we couldn't pass, we were so ineffective with the ball that barca could have had a crap game and still come out looking like roses, Inesta was immence he absolutely owned us

We were shit scared of them tbh... we needed to be aggressive, hit them ahrd, pick up a few bookings.

Should have started Scholes... he ran the show last year, and would certainly not back off them.

Vidic proves he's overrated yet again!

About the only part of his game I think is lacking is his one-on-one defending. Which, against a side like Barcelona, is of the utmost importance.

The most skilful dribblers in the EPL all tend to run wide on the pitch, he doesn't have to deal with it in the same way Primera Liga and Serie A defenders do to the likes of Messi, Kaka, Ronaldinho and Totti for example.

agreed his positioning was well below average, and he put no pressure on, was a really poor showing by Man U today straight up

As a CB you shouldn't have to worry about 1 on 1s... thats what the WBs are for.

You shoud have a partner anyway.

Ronaldo to leave. JUst though his attitude after Barca's 1st was diabolical. He just gave up.
