Both Slater tries. Thaiday was held back in the first, in the second Slater looked like he was in front of the kicker.
I didn't notice the kick try for slater, thought he was onside. Thaiday being held back was pretty fucked though, should've been a penalty to us, we did get lucky with Hoffman's first try.
That's what I think, after being as disappointing as we have been and to get reasonably close to the best side in the comp without Hodges and McGuire and copping a couple of injuries in the game I think we did pretty well.
Yeah, the biggest problem is still the spine. Hunt at friggin hooker and Norman at fullback looked miles better than the other 3, so that's a bit worrying.
Geez thats clutching, especially after Hoffmans first try. Melbourne were the better side imo. Chambers and Duffie kept the Broncos in the game.
Even if Duffie didn't rush, some of those were still going to be tries. He's definitely not the only one to blame.
You're kidding me - All three of Brisbanes tries at the start of the second half came off questionable late set penalties. Those tackles weren't any slower than any we made in the first half.
To say Duffie was so bad he was playing for Brissie is pretty harsh - it was his inside men that left him hanging. He also scored a ripper.
Tough game, but Brissie did bloody well to get that close. Melbourne were doing it far too easy in possession, they were definitely struggling to match Brisbanes intensity in that second half. Tohu Harris was awesome, and my man Mahe Fonua had another strong game ❤❤❤
You can't place more blame on Duffie than Chambers (who I don't think has been mentioned at all in this thread) Chambers poor reads and lack of faith in his inside defenders can be directly attributed to three of those tries - he left Duffie out to dry. If you're a winger and your inside man rushes in, you have to come in as well. It looks bad, but it's either that or give the opposition an open shot at your inside shoulder. It's a better decision every time to force the pass and show them the corner.
This old cunt behind me at the pub was trying to tell me if Hodges played Brisbane would have put the storm away by halftime
