How's Myles going with his injuries? He a chance to get pick for this with them?

  2. Maroon_Faithful M Faithful

He'll have plenty of time to recover now that their season is over. He should definitely be in the team. Been great for the Titans. Was the Wally Lewis medal winner in Origin. Has tons of experience. Can play from the bench or as a starter. Can play front row or lock. It's a no-brainer afaic.

Won't be at all surprised though if he misses out.

  3. Wilson SB Wilson

Be a bit of a farce if he doesn't get the Rep player at the Dally M's.

  4. Magic AJ Parker

    Train on squad from the bottom 8 teams is;

Greg Bird, Jamal Idris, Nate Myles, William Zillman (Gold Coast Titans); Darius Boyd, Akuila Uate (Newcastle Knights); Lachlan Coote, Tim Grant, Michael Jennings, Luke Lewis (Penrith Panthers); Ben Creagh, Brett Morris, Trent Merrin, Beau Scott (St George Illawarra Dragons); Jake Friend, Mitchell Pearce (Sydney Roosters); Feleti Mateo (Warriors); Robbie Farah, Chris Lawrence, Aaron Woods (Wests Tigers).

Idris should take up gambling as a profession when he retires, dead set born with a golden egg up his arse.

    Fucking oath.

This is a mix of what I think will be picked/what I want picked.

    1. Slater
    2. Boyd
    3. Inglis
    4. Hodges
    5. Tate
    6. Thurston
    7. Cronk
    8. Gallen
    9. Smith
    10. Scott
    11. Thaiday
    12. Watmough
    13. Parker

    14. Barba
    15. Shillington
    16. Tamou
    17. Myles

Want but wont happen = Tate/Parker/Myles
Think that will happen that I dont want = Thaiday/Watmough/Barba

  7. Julian BJ Taylor

Somewhat on topic; I'd pick papalii in the nz side.

  8. Cribbage RG Cribb

Not that I necessarily disagree, but did you actually sit down and think about all their potential back rowers and their overall structure before coming up with this, or did you just nadyone the situation by thinking "I think Papalli is a good player and he plays for my club side, therefore he should be in this side no matter what else is happening" ?

  9. Julian BJ Taylor

Yeah I did. Smith, IMO, is better at lock. You all know my thoughts on mannering...Pritchard on the bench and papalii running lines off kieran foran.

    Blair prop or gtfo

    Meh to everyone else.

  10. Maroon_Faithful M Faithful

I can't say I really understand Papalii starting over Pritchard.

  11. Magic AJ Parker

Papalli offers more coming out of their own end and is just as useful in attack. Given they'll inevitably be picking a weak prop rotation I think it's vital to pick someone who'll help out. Pritchard's too lazy and it's just not Glenn or Mannering's go. Plus I'd have Blair up front.

Papalli is easily one of the most well rounded forwards I've ever seen at a young age, apart from some second phase he's pretty much got it all, if I was NZ I'd be getting a game under his belt as soon as possible before the most passionate state come in to try and poach him again.

  12. Ged GEC King

Barba will definitely get picked on the bench.

  13. Boobidy BJ Gemmell

    Glenn >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Papalii

  14. Boobidy BJ Gemmell

Disgusted people dropping Hodges for Morris. Tate I can cop, but fucking Morris?

  15. Maroon_Faithful M Faithful

His defense can be pretty meh at times. And I like the jibe about the passionate state. As if our willingness to get whatever players we can to win is a sign of less passion. Never mind NSW poaching Tamou To fill their dire prop stocks.

  16. Magic AJ Parker

Somewhat irrelevant when your competition is Glenn & Pritchard.

  17. Julian BJ Taylor

Papaliis defence is the best part of his game.

  18. Maroon_Faithful M Faithful

I'm just saying I don't think he's as well-rounded as you seem to.

I also think it's a bit fallacious to make an argument for Papalii (who is your choice) on the basis that the NZRL will pick a weak front row rotation. That's like me saying I think the ARL should pick Brent Tate at left centre because they're probably going to pick Tony Williams on the left fringe. Unless I've misread you and you don't think it's possible, given the options, for NZ to put out a strong front row, in which case, I just simply disagree.

  19. Magic AJ Parker

I don't even think his defence is that bad, I'd consider him a strong defender.

You misunderstood me, I meant they just can't pick a strong enough front row to compete with Australia. Probably should've made myself more clear. I just don't think they have the props to select from to go close in competing with with Shillington, Scott, Tamou & Gallen.

I certainly wouldn't say he's a poor defender. He tackled at 87% efficiency this year. However, can be on some days so by the same token I certainly wouldn't call him a strong defender either. 24 tackles and 4 or 5 misses type games are not uncommon to him. And yeah he can make 40 tackles and miss only 1 but he can turn around the next week, as he did against the Roosters, and make 24 tackles and miss 8 with 4 ineffective. Good defenders don't do that.

    He's very protean, I find.
