    yep. and he got nowhere near a free kick from about 25 yards that probably should have been saved. almost dropped the ball over the line at one point too.

    The Australian soccer team really need to uncover a bit of a larikin to be their poster boy imo. Cahill seems to have a bit more personality than all the others past and present, but still very bland.

    I still support them of course, but just never find myself connecting with the side.

    Travelled down to the game. It never fails to amaze me how quickly a new coach can change the playing style of a side overnight. It wasn't totally convincing, but defensively we looked so much better with Williams at the back, while Jedinak and Milligan were both outstanding.

    Australia were the better side but Costa Rica never looked into it. Missed a few good chances as well where as Costa Rica only had the 1 near goal that I remember.

    Australia definitely should be winning these games, which under Osieck they probably wouldn't. Costa Rica at home and factoring in thing such as jet lag and the fact we arrived earlier meant it was a game we really should win and duly delivered.

    Solid enough. Williams was more convincing in my eyes though. Neill did make a couple of physical challenges on players off the ball that he wouldn't have got away with under a different referee.
