    1. I actually think it'd create more lay downs from forwards who want a mandatory HIA which they'll pass, to give themselves a ten minute break without using two interchanges.
    2. Even if I'm wrong about #1, I actually totally disagree thay lay downs are such a terrible scourge that it's worth breaking the interchange system just to reduce them.

OK then a simple one. If the referee doesn't blow a penalty live, they can't award one once the video ref has a look at the replay.

He seems to do well whenever I watch him, as shit as the Dogs are. I mean I'll take your words for it, but he's done more against us when he played us than Brooks has done to every other team this season.

Was Chris McQueen on decent money at the Tigers? I've been trying to work out where they can go next year.

I'm probably just being sentimental, but when I look across the Tigers spine, just about the only bloke I'd hang on to is Benji (Grant if he'd stay obviously), he still creates a bit. I think Mbye is worth giving fullback to over Douhie, he just doesn't seem to have the attributes to be a FG fullback, Brooks doesn't seem to have really developed any game awareness whatsoever in the 7(?) years he's been about, bit of a Travis Burns without the penalties.

If they were set on keeping Brooks it's a bit of a shame they didn't get a guy like Blake Green to come over, let someone do everything and then just have him run (or do the same with Reynolds if they flicked Brooks), given he's signed and cooked, I don't really know where they should look. I feel like Brooks is the one they'd get the most interest in offloading to super league or similar.

Maybe going for a 2 year rebuild and throwing money at Staines and/or Burton from Penrith and try to turn Brooks in to a bench dummy half/hooker longer term and bring in a seasoned head to the run on 9.

I think signing Addo Carr to play fullback would be a huge mistake, given its probably Mbyes best position and realistically they won't get rid of him.

Need a bit more oomph in the engine room, I know they've got a track record of signing older age flops from other sydney clubs, but I think they could do worse than Tamou to lead the young pack (or maybe bring a guy like Tolman in on a low wage).

    1. Staines/Mbye
    2.
    3. Leilua
    4. Momirovski
    5. Noafaluma
    6. Mbye/Burton/Connor Watson?
    7. Benji
    8. James Tamou
    9. Peats/Rein/Friend?
    10. Josh Aloai
    11. Luke Garner
    12. Luciano Leilua
    13. Matt Eisenhuth

    14. Brooks
    15. 16. 17. Blore/McIntyre/Twal/Clark/

Any of those hooking options have the potential to be Matt Ballin.0, the idea of bringing them in kind of hinges on changing Brooks to a dummy half.

I've probably missed something pretty obvious, but from watching their last few games that's about the best I can muster. Thought that Sam McIntyre had a good crack last night, Eisenhuth has shown a bit, Aloai has a bit of go about him too. So there's some promise in the forwards, think a guy like Tamou in there as a leader and Russell Packer fucked right off would do wonders for them.

Knowing the Tigers they'll retire Benji, get stuck with the rest then add in Tyrone May and Connor Watson to ultimately be stuck with 2 more utilities and no idea what to do.

  6. Lukic L Popovic

We have Jake Liddle who is fine at hooker. Not a world beater but can live with him. Also have Jake Simpkin coming through who's meant to be a great prospect.

Eisenhuth is ok but really a bit of a plodder. I'd have him in the squad but don't think he's starting quality.

Nofoaluma, Aloiai and Luciano Leilua would make every other first grade team. Joey would make most too but we've just horribly misused him. The rest are a bunch of shit and ok players.

I like McIntyre, lot of potential there. I'd try and turn him into a Radley/Murray type lock given he can ballplay a bit, has some footwork and excellent tackling technique.

Blore is being played in the middle but he should take the right edge 2nd row spot from Garner. Madge tried to bulk Garner up but he plays his best as a wide running 2nd row/centre type. Was killing it last year on the left edge towards the end and is now useless.

Twal is overrated for mine. Gun defensively but pretty useless going forward. Lacks impact for the bench, not good enough to be playing more than 45-50 mins.

Doueihi was going ok at FB but the lack of pace is shocking. Mbye's better at FB for sure - he actually gunned it there under Ivan until he got injured. Preference would be Staines at this point though.

    1. Staines
    2. Nofoaluma
    3. Leilua
    4. Talau/Doueihi
    5. Addo-Carr
    6. Burton
    7. Benji?
    8. Aloiai
    9. Liddle/Simpkin
    10. Twal
    11. Blore
    12. Leilua
    13. McIntyre

    14. Mbye
    15. Musgrove
    16. Mikaele
    17. Garner

Is probably the best we can hope for next year.

One of my mates had a decent point about Brooks, he was dally m half of the year under Cleary, but just seems to have lost the plot under madge. I wonder if he's tried to shoe horn him into an Adam Reynolds type controller, especially when he dropped Benji and as a result he's just totally destroyed his confidence.

Given Mbye isn't going anywhere I think its time they put him in the 1, Doueihi might have been told he was getting the fullback spot, but he's been given a crack and is just not a fb imo. Looks to be a centre and even then probably a squad player.

Doueihi has some nice touches here and there and can cover a few positions when required, but you wouldn't want him 1st choice for any of them.
I reckon his best option for him would be to hit the sauce over the off-season and try and become a ballplaying edge forward.

Are you suggesting they should go poach another clubs juniors?

    My thoughts on tigers

    1) Doueihi - should have been marched for the rest of the match last night and not just ten minutes. That was the most cold hearted professional foul I have ever seen. That said he is ok and I would have him somewhere in my team. Just not sure where.
    2) foran is cooked as mentioned so be careful what you wish for.
    3) Throw maybe a million at Harry Grant and ask him to break his contract with Storm.
    4) Brooks is fine just lacking some TLC from the coach. I actually admit that I rate Brooks. Regard him as a bog standard NRL half. As long as he is the supporting half and the other bloke is a star you will be fine.
    5) Move on from Benji. Plan for the future.
    6) Stick with Madge. The problem is not the coaching. It is the roster/list/the cattle.
    7) Figure the fuck out where Mbye should play. Begin by asking him.
    8) Carr to full back if you can get him. The Fox is incredible.

Tigers need to not panic. One or two star acquisitions are all you need.
Don't throw the baby out with the bath water.

He is on track to be a top 5 NRL coach. Early days though.

Warriors fans on my forum are over the moon and acting like they've won the comp...the reaction is because we usually lose so winning is foreign to us.

If you havn't watched the Warriors in a while then tune just to see Wade Egan play. Dynamite Hooker.

    Another week, another Brisbane loss.
The media has been too soft on Brisbane and allowed them to put in these crass performances. Daruis Boyd at times Friday night on defence looked like he was auditioning for the Benny Hill comedy show rather than acting the part of an NRL fullback.

  13. Magic AJ Parker

There was one moment on Friday night where Darius Boyd actually ran away from the ball because there was going to be a collision.

Magically he somehow got the ball after a Roosters player kicked it off the ground.

That play from Papenhuyzen is exactly why Doueihi unless he picks up a couple of yards of pace won't be the solution at fb. Get outside your man and create and overlap and the excellent cut-out dummy to put Olam in.

FMD we had both him and Tedesco and kept neither.

From last nights game I do wonder if Coen Hess is even redeemable as a player now. Can he do better under a new coach? Teams have to just run at him and they are near certainties to score.

The seating arrangement at this Storm/Manly game is so strange.

Trying to figure out what they're doing. Huge gaps in the hill and then what appears to be a full line of fans going up the hill.

What? Media has been fucking brutal.

I am a Kiwi and live in Wellington the capital of enzud. To get a feel for the Queensland media I have to google. Usually I go to the Brisbane times.

This is the article from Fridays game there are 3-4 sentences about how bad Broncos are but 95% of the article is how wonderful roosters was and how we can all look forward to SBW next week.
The media are to blame for not representing the fans frustrations, unless the Brisbane times is non representative sample? I wouldn't know. I am 5 000 kms away.

I live in Canberra and even our media has hammered the Broncos. Can only imagine how hard they're smashing them in Brisbane.

  20. AVA T Delonge

I think at this point in the season the media has just given up on slamming them because what's the point? The coach has been sacked and the season is cooked. They've been going at them hard every week that Siebold was at the helm.
