    I have the cable curled up in behind the counter type thing, it's not the end of the world to drag out and plug into my TV. It's a mild annoyance at best. I already do it four times a year for Origin + grand final.

    I'd probably actually get my networking guy to come and run it to the correct wall if I had to deal with a whole season or more of it but it seemed a fair enough whinge. :laugh:

    I get the hate for 9 but i still prefer it to fox during playing time. But thats mainly because i cant stand fox's commentary, especially Voss and Anasta.

    They had exclusive online rights though and their streams were horrendous from memory. That’s not even mentioning they had the crucial moment/celebration in the game as the image on the video the next morning.

    Yeah I reckon the NRL were happy enough to run with 15 but the broadcasters insisted they push for as many as possible to get back on board with the $$$ the NRL were asking for.

    I generally think 9 are unfairly panned for their sport broadcasting. Their cricket commentating lineup and implementation of technologies was all time. Cunts pissed and moaned about the lineup but it was the best ever assembled, especially into the 90s when the legends were all still sharp as a tack.

    I pretty much think the same about the majority of the NRL coverage. Their talk shows have always left a lot to be desired but the coverage of games has always been decent IMO. Ray Warren is the GOAT and no matter how senile he's become we will all miss him when he's gone. Vautin's seemingly lifetime deal is the biggest fuck up. But Sterling and Gould really are just about the best expert commentators alongside the main caller that we've had the last 25 years IMO. The biggest fuck up they made is not replacing Andrew Voss by a genuinely good #2 caller (as they essentially call wat more games than Rabs now and have done for a decade). I think Matt Thompson has improved but was gash at the start and having to endure Tim Gilbert and Ray Hadley etc has been horrible. Everyone hates Fittler, Johns and co but Fox have some much, much worse pundits and always seem to move on from callers when they've just started to nail it. There was no reason to turf Matt Russell and replace him with Brenton Speed for example. Using Matt Nable was a disaster as well.

    9 would be severely fucking up by letting the NRL go I agree. My major concern with a new FTA broadcaster though is them completely fucking up their ensemble. Because realistically unless they snared one of the main 2 callers from Fox it would be horrible to start with.

    Matt Thompson is quite decent imo.

    And yeah, 7's coverage of the WC was fucking awful. God forbid they take over.

    I just don't understand *why* they're bringing in a bunch of changes now. What about the shorter season changed their thought process about some of these things? If they think it'll improve things now, why didn't they think that before the start of the season?
