The last try was so far out from full time that I didn't even think about it when he scored. With ten to go I gave a second's thought to who I had for LTS (DCE and Peach) and suddenly realised I'd win if there weren't any more tries, haha.

So you were hoping Addo-Carr and Turbo tripped on the breakaway? :p

  3. Alec AD Funkotron

If we picked DCE in Game 2,we probably win the series.

I was hoping they linked up with Peachey back on the inside. :p

It's salty but yeah trying to be semi-objective as I can, I think you're right. I also think if Ponga or Slater play Game 1 we would've gone much closer to winning. We just had no pace on the outside, wide shifts with Morgan (who was in terrible form).

I'm not at all convinced NSW are the better side when we're at full strength. I honestly don't think they offered a great deal at all other than Tedesco and Cook and Mitchell/Maloney sporadically. Really, not much. But it's hard to argue when we had so much ball and field position tonight and still couldn't manage the points until the second half.

Obviously doesn't mean shit either but if we had JT on the left, Inglis threads a dozen tries through Roberts. Cunt is pus.

How we didn't capitalise on the Blues right edge a thousand times is beyond me.

It's also hard to argue we're as good when our defence was decimated so easily in the middle. It's just not up to par.

McCullough racing out and letting Cook through. McGuire turning in and letting Tedesco through. Wallace being a turd sandwich. No control in the ruck allowing Blues forwards on knees and elbows 90% of the time. It's gotta change.

lol the best our ruck D looked all series was with Napa and........lol......Ponga in the middle.

McCullough needs to actually wake the fuck up and look at the defensive line when we're attacking. The number of times he went to the half on the blindside (Game 2 it was all Hunt on the right, tonight it was Munster on the left). Clearly stacked blindside, nothing doing and he plays to it.

Fucking lol at anyone arguing Maloney should not have been binned. That is the most blatant obstructing of a chaser you will see. The first is marginal but the second attempt, barging him into the posts is comical. Far worse than what Hunt did in Game 2, which was rightly given a penalty try.

Obviously it shouldn't have been a pen-try but it would've been ridiculous had he not been binned. That was NFL quality blocking.

Wasn't even a debatable call. NSW got the rub of the green, IMO. Few 6 again calls they got that were very dodgy, and the accidental offside debacle at the start of the game.

  11. Maroon_Faithful M Faithful

lol how was that not a pen against Cordner after Maloney’s touch. Blatant offside.

  12. Maroon_Faithful M Faithful

Fairly sure Maloney knocked on twice and both were missed. I do think Hunt was lucky not to be penalised for grabbing Sims but his Dragons team mate lost the plot and tackled him so fair enough.

And good call on Kaufusi not playing at the kick. No way that is an attempted charge down.

Surprise surprise they actually blew a few ruck pens this game. Only happens in Brisbane every. fucking. year. Why they allow it to become slower than club footy in Sydney is beyond me.

Holmes has 8 tries in 5 games. 9 behind Inglis and he's only 22. lol ridiculous.

Gotta laugh at you Queensland numpties applaudimg the calls in favour of Queensland and still critiquing the ones against you with an 8-3 winning penalty count.

Could you imagine all of your tears if that was reversed? Christ almighty, especially at the end of the first half when you had 64% of possession and a 5-1 penalty count. If that was reversed Suncorp stadium would be ash today.

    Magic likes this.
  15. Magic AJ Parker

Assuming that the result for game 3 would have been the same had it still been a live game.

Which stage of grief is denial?

What wrong calls did QLD get? I can think of the one when Tarago was called in touch but he wasn't, that's about it.

  17. Maroon_Faithful M Faithful

Which was irrelevant anyway because the pass was forward.

  18. Maroon_Faithful M Faithful

Yeah cause the possession disparity was clearly just caused by the refereeing wasn't it? Give yourself a break.

What does the reverse scenario prove? What would ANZ stadium now be if QLD had a 12-3 penalty count as NSW did in 2016? Wtf are you even talking about?

  19. Maroon_Faithful M Faithful

My criticism of the referees has little to do with who got the rub of the green or who didn't last night. I thought it was fairly even. I didn't realise highlighting some of the salient calls was forbidden if you win the penalty count. I'll remember that for the future when you and Magic do it.

The criticism is why do they continually police the ruck more stringently in Brisbane than they do in Sydney? It is a demonstrable fact that this occurs year after year. We can't fucking buy one south of the border. And it's not merely a home side phenomenon. The ruck for both sides is generally officiated differently up here than in Sydney. Call me crazy, but I'd prefer to see a fast ruck speed for Origin than one comparable to club land. Lot of good that does when the series is already over before a game gets played in Brisbane.

It'll be fairly interesting to see what NSW do with Cleary next year. Seemed unable to inject himself into this year's Origin.
