Austin + Tedesco with J Reynolds/Peachey coming off the bench would make our ruck play a serious strength later on in the games.

Yep Reynolds is gone. It'll be Moylan. Bird is training there now but Moylan will be in camp by tomorrow if not sooner.

It's just so repetitive for NSW. Year after year they don't pick their best players. Maloney is not NSW's best halfback and Moylan is not their best five-eighth. I don't know how you expect to win a series when this happens. It's an upgrade on the first two games though so that's a positive.

Get the chance to take a good look at Moylan too so yeah but it's just not ideal. It's hard enough when you have inferior players let alone failing to pick the best of them.

They might still bring Pearce in for all you know.

I don't think Maloney and Moylan is all that bad tbh.

  6. Julian BJ Taylor

Neither of them can kick though tbf

Agreed it's not bad. But it's far from ideal.

Yeahs that's a possibility. It's retarded but yeah it's possible. He is the best club halfback in NSW imo and club form counts for a lot among the people in charge.

    It's Moylan.

    C'd for five-eight?

I'm really happy that it's Moylan. I don't really think he's the option that gives us the best chance of winning this game but I do think playing him there is the best use we can get out of this game. If he handles it well then he's a real option in the position next year, and even if he literally costs us the game there's not a lot to lose anyway.

I realise that, taken to its natural conclusion, this philosophy would justify a whole heap of other changes, but I do think it's a balancing act between winning the game and getting the best use of it, and think on balance picking Moylan is better than picking whoever they thought the next best option actually was (Pearce, Hodkinson or Josh Reynolds, probably).

Now Daley's saying Bird will most likely start. Earlier he said Moylan would come straight in for Reynolds. Now he's saying Bird and that they will both probably spend time there but he hasn't made up his mind.

FMD. This cunt has no clue.

Apparently it will come down to who trains best in the position. So if there's no injury, you replace your five-eighth? Cool.

    6.Bird
    7.Maloney

    14.Moylan

If you'd told me before the series that this would occur at some point, well, I dunno what I would've said. Seriously hope Daley comes to his senses.

Walters has brought in Kaufusi as cover for Myles.

I won't be shocked if QLD win but I'll be a little surprised if we do. NSW just have so much more motivation. And it's in Sydney. Can't underestimate the loss of Morgan and especially Papalii either. I think we'll get beaten in the middle; more so than in the first two games. I wouldn't go as far as Gould saying NSW 13+ but if the Blues play straight with Maloney, Bird, Farah and Tedesco off the back of the roll, I don't think we can win three in a row playing with inferior field position again.

There's a real gap in the packs now and they just have so much more to play for. Their main weakness is still a lack of ball playing but a running game should be the plan anyway. And their kicking could be a problem. Farah needs to do a fair bit more I think.

Which Kaufusi? I can't even think of one that would be in contention?

Moylan's training at hooker this morning. Looks like Daley has decided to use him as the utility. Perhaps some of these so called journalists could actually ask a coach just for once, "Hey, Laurie, why the fuck are you using a fullback with suspect defence as a hooker replacement?"

    Laurie has lost the plot.
