100% guarantee you can. Been doing it for ages - especially if the rough is facing out, it works exactly like a swinger in that in flicking the seam the ball should spin right along it in the air. A hardly spun leggie drifts in too using essentially the same logic.

If your palm faces the batsman you're bowling seam up or back spin.

Try gripping the ball like you're bowling seam up, fingers down the seam then do everything like a leggie, try and bowl a leg spinner with that grip and see how it turns and drifts. If you get it right it should drift in and turn 4 stumps - and if so bowl like that with a traditional grip. The down the seam grip should get your hands in the right position so you know how to bowl the traditional if that makes sense

I'm probably the wrong person to ask a I have a pretty similar issue. A 40 over old ball I turn miles but I get no turn with a new ball as I need an elevated seam to turn it grip wise. I also don't use a fourth finger, my middle finger is my spinning finger.
