**** I didn't even mention that the Dogs were robbed when Penrith scored that try off the kick. I think it was Tighe, clearly knocked the ball into the Penrith player who caught the ball and gave it to Waterhouse I think it was.
Wow. Just wow. What good is a repeat set when they didn't even have enough time to get as close, let alone closer than they already were and would've been, had they taken another forward ruck at the posts? They were already in perfect field position and had to redo another 4 tackles, all to get 10m further back. Two tackles and 55 seconds remaining, 20m out and Roberts puts in a dud grubber - One of the dumbest plays I have ever seen.
Gee, I wonder where you got that from... I love Petero, and am constantly stipulating that the game is getting softer and softer and we need to do something about it. Kickers are immune, pathetic pseudo-dangerous "past horizontal" nonsense, calling held early to avoid injury and etc. All are turning our game into netball. However, I don't care if Civoniceva was sent off because Stewart wasn't - We already know referees go onto the field with presuppositions. The facts are, Stewart hit Anasta late with a cocked forearm/elbow and made flush and first contact with the head. That is a send off and always has been, at least in modern RL. Civoniceva used a swinging arm and made flush and first contact with the jaw on a player who was not falling or bending over. That is a send off.
Do you remember Roberts's tackle one grubber at 30-30 against Souths a couple of years back? The grubber his brain-snap fall-back play.
Ben Roberts shouldn't put in attacking kicks. Just pump them long when in his own territory and work on his running game.
I can agree about Walsh but I do think that it waws the Bulldogs that made him struggle. Ennis doing a really, really good job at putting pressure on him when he went to kick. I didn't stick around and listen to the post-game show tbh.
Please tell me where i got that from? If that happened on friday there is no way that would have been a send off. That is why i am saying it is a joke because the refs were looking for an out after the pressure they were getting about it. Even if he was falling over petro would have been sent.
I was assuming he wanted Roberts to move to centre and Barba to play five-eighth. Turns out he wants Keating there.
I really rate Kris Keating. No surprise either that the best he's played was the one game (and a rep game too) where he's played with a decent halfback.
And considering Keating scored himself a handsome deal (from what I've heard) he's the first choice 6 IMO. Hodkinson and him played heaps of junior footy together, Barba is moving to fullback and Ennis isn't going to sit on the bench for 30 minutes of games.
I still don't buy the whole "Keating's been signed on a decent deal so he must play" school of thinking. If he's a better 5/8th then Roberts (Personally I don't think he is) then sure play him. But I really can't see the reasoning behind weakening two positions in the team (5/8th and centre) just to fit a player in.
Roberts in the centres with Idris in the back row would be good, IMO. Don't think it'd weaken the team at all. Perhaps unnecessary now that Pritchard's been signed, though.
Idris will go back to the centres full time for a while I'd say. Haven't they signed another backrower as well? Tolman, Pritchard etc etc. I'd move Roberts to left centre and josh Morris back to the wing where he belongs. Would be a ****ing lethal backline for a change IMO.
