I wouldn't say his footballing intelligence is that bad. He's pretty adept in backline movements. The biggest issue with him right now is his physical conditioning, whether injury or just being unfit. He's a good ballplayer from the back but what makes him really effective is his burst as his acceleration over 10-20m when healthy is immense and that threat of being able to bust the line along with his good hands is what would've made him a great threat.

With his speed lacking atm though he won't be nearly as effective, although with that said his ability to chime into backline movements will still benefit us because we've got two centres who are damaging runners with good offloads and great finishers outside them.

 

The Josh Reynolds contract will come back to bite us. No doubt if we have the 700k or so available to us we're able to make a good play at Cleary for 2020.
Brooks is finally developing pretty well and has become a dangerous runner and a halves pairing of Brooks & Cleary with Mbye at the back would've been great.

Hopefully we can offload Reynolds back to the Dogs for Woods or something lol.

 

Man if we sign Woods fucking lol. I can't possibly think of a funnier player transfer sequence if it happens, especially if the Dogs have to pay part of his contract.

 

Woods is just so average. He shouldn't be on over 400k.

He is a decent NRL prop. He's only worth average money, 350-450. What he is on now is a joke.

 

Nah Woods is pretty good at club level. He's a workhorse and a good ball player, both which are much more valuable at club level than rep level. You can't really plan for an offloading/ball-playing prop at rep level and there's too many mouths to feed so a guy that can make 20 runs at 7-8m a run at club level instead making 6-7m per run on like 10 runs at rep level isn't that valuable.

Club levels about mixing impact/efficiency with volume where as origin I'd say is just about impact/efficiency.

 

How's Johnson been at fullback when he's played? Never thought much of him as a ballplayer but he seems fast enough that he's still a threat.
