yeah, hence the team is shit. there's no one else so he's a huge plus. meanwhile NSW could barely care less if mcguire was a nswelshman and he was eligible or not

Our pack is stronger than what it was last year.

Our pack is stronger than what it was last year. Now that McGuire is playing we at least don’t have to blood Arrow straight away.

  4. Boobidy BJ Gemmell

NSW pack is very strong. Pity about the rest of the side. QLD 3rd choice halves would be first choice for NSW.

If I was picking a side right now I'd find it tough to leave Ofahenguae out. Has been a machine.

  6. Boobidy BJ Gemmell

He is definitely pushing for a bench spot. I'd take him over Scott on current form.

  7. Maroon_Faithful M Faithful

Nah Ofahenguae should not be in the mix. I rate him and he's a great prospect, so is Su'a, but not yet. I've actually changed my mind about Arrow from a few days ago. With McGuire fit I think he should be played up front. Arrow's offloading and metreage is something we shouldn't pass up. I'd like to see...

    8.Scott
    10.Napa
    11.Cooper
    12.Papalii
    13.Arrow

    15.McGuire
    16.Wallace

Now that to me is a middle third rotation that can match NSW. Carry an edge forward in the 17 and move Papalii to lock.

According to Josh Mahsoup, for NSW

    * 10-plus debutantes

    * 20-man squad on Sunday. 17-man team named Monday night.

    * Damian Cook only specialist hooker

    * No Klemmer or Woods

    * Tom Trbojevic centre

    * Nathan Cleary, Luke Keary, James Maloney all in squad.

Jeez NSW love a fullback. Trbojevic at centre is retarded. He’s a gun but fuck me why are you asking him to defend out of position on Inglis? Playing Turbo outside Tedesco is so arse-backwards. At least pick the cunt who passes inside the bloke who doesn’t.

Not picking Klemmer is an absolute gift to QLD. The guy is playing in a pus side and still racking up 170m a game; the most in the competition. He's experienced, extremely hard to halt his momentum, draws in 3 and 4 defenders, and brings aggression to the pack. I think it's ridiculous if true. No Fifita and no Klemmer; that's NSW's two most damaging props out of the picture. Thanks, btw...

Cook over McInnes is the right call though imo. As is Cleary and Maloney in the halves, if that's what they go with.

Doesn't get talked about a lot but Jayson Bukuya would be dynamite for you blokes off the bench.

  11. Boobidy BJ Gemmell

NSW not picking Klemmer would be fantastic.

  12. Lukic L Popovic

    1. Tom Trbojevic
    2. Nick Cotric
    3. James Tedesco
    4. Latrell Mitchell
    5. Josh Addo-Carr
    6. James Maloney
    7. Nathan Cleary
    8. Paul Vaughan
    9. Damien Cook
    10. Regan Campbell-Gillard
    11. Tyson Frizzell
    12. Boyd Cordner
    13. Jake Trbojevic

    14. David Klemmer
    15. Shannon Boyd
    16. Wade Graham
    17. Tyrone Peachey

I think Cotric should be our first outside back picked actually. He's a gun.

  13. Magic AJ Parker

I think Nathan Cleary is massively overrated at this stage in his career.

I also see this series potentially being damaging to his development, because he no doubt has the potential to be an Origin player.

You just can't pick a 20yr old halfback with less than 50 first grade games under his belt at Origin. I don't even really think Latrell Mitchell & Toomy T are ready tbh but at least they're in the outside backs.

Just let the kid develop in First Grade and find his feet there first.

  14. Magic AJ Parker

I might agree with that comment if it was Matt Scott pre-ACL injury & Josh Papalii from 2 years ago but you're clearly rating them too highly when you say a comment like that.

Scott's barely hit 50 running metres in his last 2 games, he's barely a shadow of the player he used to be. You're right you can't pass up on Arrow's metreage but he's still a rookie, it's a pretty sad state of affairs when a 30 game rookie is going to be your main yardage man in the starting pack.

I don't care if Peter Beattie picked our pack, there's just no scenario when QLD pick a pack that matches NSW.

  15. Boobidy BJ Gemmell

I agree with Magic here, Scott is absolutely done as a player and shouldn't be picked. Our middle third is piss poor, another reason we need the Goat on the left wing.

  16. Maroon_Faithful M Faithful

Our pack didn’t contain Scott last year and we matched NSW in Game 3.

I agree Scott is well down but he’s still hitting 80m at 8m on average. He’s just not getting through a lot of work. He’s still better than Glasby. And he’s had games where he’s cracked 100m and shown us the old Matt Scott. So he’s still capable. And with Arrow there, I don’t see how our middle third or at least the one I picked, isn’t stronger than last year.

Meanwhile NSW have apparently left out Klemmer, Woods and Fifita who no matter what you think of them, are the top three metre makers in NSW as far as props go. The latter two are also your top two offloaders. RCG and Vaughan are clearly overrated at this point being apparently walk-up starters.

  17. Maroon_Faithful M Faithful

I also don’t know what you’re talking about with Papalii. Since being dropped he’s come back renewed and back to the form that got him in the Test side.

  18. Maroon_Faithful M Faithful

You still want to pick Cody Walker? Seriously?...

  19. Maroon_Faithful M Faithful

The contact he put on Melbourne and Penrith show he's far from done as a player. His opening stint last night was outstanding. Made 10m a carry and smashed Tonumaipea as well as heavy contact on Asofa-Solomona. Defensively he was great. He just needs to get his work rate back up in terms of carries. But the quality of his work and his willingness to put the body on the line is right there to see.

It's also a little disingenuous of Magic to mention the Souths game given that he got injured 5 minutes into the second stint and didn't return. Similar thing happened last night in his second spell. Got cannonballed by Kaufusi so I wasn't surprised he was a playing a little reserved in the second half.

Dropping Scott is ridiculous. We absolutely need him to be there.

  20. Maroon_Faithful M Faithful

If the guy was making 6m a run and avoiding contact then yeah I’d agree. But that’s not the case. It’s just the work rate regarding the number of hit-ups he needs to pick up on.
